Born and raised in the South, Cory Kuykendall was surrounded by a wide array of music from a very early age. “Singing has never really been something that I‘ve thought about, especially when you‘re young, it‘s just something that’s always been as natural to me as speaking, I just consider it a blessing, and try to be as thankful and humble as possible,” says Kuykendall, who operates under the moniker cory.k. Twenty-two years and hundreds of sound checks later, he is working on getting back to his singer/songwriter roots, armed with all kinds of guitars and an eclectic selection of various other instruments and sounds. Currently, he is spending the majority of his time in the studio, and it seems, ruling nothing out. “I don’t really like labeling music, I like all kinds of music and I feel like it’s an automatic turn-on or turn-off for people. I like to put it down the way I feel it, and hope the listener can take something positive away from the experience.”
