Thanks for the review of Moonlight Kiss. You were spot on with the vocals . They were only a scratch vocal that I ended up using... so a little clean up is truly needed. I'll play with the drum suggestion this weekend Thanks....Liam

I just listened to Sunday Morning Eggs. - WOW - talk about a good and unusual hook I love accoustic guitar played well & a simple melody and your vocals are quite good. This should do well!

Broadjam really needs to improve on their opp descriptions. I see a lot of winners that are around 33% of peer, which obviously proves those submitting have no real idea on what the provider really wants. A great way for Broadjam to make money, but not so great for those who submit. Just my thoughts.

Jeff I'm new here and I'm wondering what do you mean by 33% of peer???Is there something I need to look at before I submit a tune ???

Author

Peer means what others who submitted songs think of your entry. The higher the peer rating, the more folks thought your song was suited for that listing. Whats interesting is that I see a lot of songs with low peer ratings winning - which is an indicator that Broadjam is not doing a very good job at telling us what the provider really wants. Thats great for Broadjam because it brings in a lot of money for them, but bad for songwriters trying to get somewhere.

Rich, I am thinking about joining B-jam Rather than Taxi do you have any insight??? I found a site that compared the two and B-jam got a lot of bad mouthing I figured you have been with these guys for a while so maybe you could help.....Thanks...Liam

Thanks for asking....I was with Taxi prior to joining Broadjam...Taxi did not have any inter-member communication like b'jam does nor did they have any way for the member to showcase their product....there was also no review platform where members could critique other members work....b'jam has that but it is somewhat to very flawed in the sense that reviewers are not qualified to review and will make comments like "That song wasn't very modern"........
But, all in all b'jam has a lot of promotional tools like "Transmit", which enables a member to send their song(s) by e-mail right from the sight......I guess it depends on what you're hoping to achieve......Sonicbids is another good site that features an electronic press kit that is very handy as well as functional......in fairness, I havn't looked at Taxi in a long time...I was turned off by a lot of things on that site, at the time..............hope that helps!

Thanks Rich. Your insight is very helpful I'm new to this music Bizz stuff I'm just a local musician here in morro bay kind of a big fish in a little pond so I thought that maybe I'd try a bigger pond. It seems like B-jam is the vehicle Thanks again...Liam

Sure Liam, anytime man!
Broadjam has its drawbacks, but I like the 'transmit' feature and the top 10 charts are fun when you get on some because you can use that promotionally!
Anyway, I'll look forward to seeing you up here more often!
Glad to have been of assistance!

Hi Liam - Thanks for your insightful comments on "I Will Walk with You". Have to say I am actually very satisfied with my producer/engineer's interpretation of my string timbres, volumes and mix, so there we disagree. But each person hears what they like, or would like to hear, I guess. You are right about the vocal, there are a few pitchy spots, and I am intending to go back and fix those. Funny how it sounds good in the studio, then you get it out there and hear things you wish you had changed. I listened to your tune - very nice ballad. All the best to you my friend. tg

Dear Liam,
Thank you for the great review of my song "Run Away With Me Now". I have to agree with you on several coments, especially the reverb and percussion/symbols. As I listen to a completed creation I start to fine a lot of notes that could be much better. A lot of music publishers in the past wanted ideas, not finished & polished recordings. I think they did me a diservice. I am costanntly looking for ways to fine tune my craft especially in the nechnical areas to sound as professional as possible. My brother and I had some recent luck with a song we wrote for our mother called "Melias Christmas", which won a "Calming Song Of The Month Contest". I think I may have achieved a new level of ignorance in the music industry.
PS. Good luck with your creations and welcome to Broadjam!
Respectfully
Pete

Hi Liam, Thanks for your constructive comments about my the chill out chord progression I worked out called "LAZY DAY IN PARIS!". I will hold my hand up and admit I ain't really a guitarist! I am more a songwriter! Whereas, having heard your lovely song "Sunday Morning Eggs!", is a cracking song with great guitar playing! Unfortunately, the project folder for "LAZY DAY IN PARIS!", is long gone! Did it 4 years ago on CUBASE. I know use LOGIC 9. My main direction to be honest is trying to write a great song rather than being a great guitarist! Although, I have huge admiration to anyone who has the discipline to stick at any instrument to master it! If all your other portfolio is of the same level as Sunday Morning Eggs I think you deserve to be famous v. soon! All the Best Dave Austin
