Thanks, Dave. Yeah, I've been having some fun with some of the more abstract aspects of electronic. There's a pretty limited audience for shred, a slightly less limited audience for instrumentals (relative to songs w/vocals), so it works for me to have a little wider appeal and still be true to myself (since I really enjoy the abstract, or odd element). After listening to some of your tracks, I can see why you like it. You've got an unusual take on sounds, yourself (in a really good way). Interesting compositions with some pretty complex and well arranged ideas. Especially liked Black Rain. Great vibe to that.
Nice melody, good vocal, I like the guitar sounds. Cool bridge part. Overall great job. Solid drumming, nice groove.

Thank you for reviewing my song "One of a Kind". I had to deal with the only vocalist I had available at the time. As far as the solo I feel it was one of the best I had done to that point. I just need to find a vocalist who can match what I am trying to convey in the song. I thought you gave a fair and constructive review of the song. But technicalities aside it is still a heartfelt good song, in my opinion as songwriter so at some point I will rerecord it with a better vocalist and perhaps change the arrangement. Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Thank you for your recent review of my song Coming Home. I appreciate you taking the time and the positive feedback. We always got a good crowd response from that song. We recorded it in a really nice studio with a great love room. Bass and drums were recorded together to save time and keep the groove, it' always about the groove right? Thanks again.

Thank you for your review of Not Just Angry. The point of the song was straight forward chaotic aggression with a balance of some calm. The idea was for use as theme music and not a sing a long.

Thank you for your review of "Spin Me.". I totally agree on the lower-energy part in the middle. This was one of my earlier songs, and I was experimenting with different song structures. Thank you for reviewing my song Calm. I recorded it years ago on a Roland Digital 8 track. Those are real drums that were actually recorded for a different song. Someday I'll remix it in Pro Tools. The lyrical concept is we all have influences trying to push us to do bad but we feel the calm of the Lord knowing He has forgiven us through our faith in Him.

Years ago I was making a delivery to a place in NJ and the receiver was a guitar player and he gave me a short CD of SMD and I thought it was great. I still listen to it. I'm not sure if you're still the same line up but I wish you guys all the best because when I first listened I thought this a great band that only I know about in MA!
Thanks for the review of Coming Home. We always got a good crowd response when we played that song.The idea I had behind it was ( I played bass in this band) to lay down a solid groove that the guitar could just float over and not just mirror the chord progression. The singer wrote the lyrics about his sister returning home after ending a relationship.Again, thanks for the review.

Thank you for the review of Down Too Long. I recorded everything except the drums at my home studio. It was my part of my final project for Audio Production at CDIA @Boston University. The loop and all other sounds I created myself recording various things in my garage. Someday I'll release a sound design library. Those are beer bottles you hear and if you listen close you can hear parts of the song where they are mixed in with the kick drum. The song lyrics are about my motorcycle accident and the 2 years of surgeries and rehab I went through. Sorry about the F-bomb. I do have an edited version. I do have an angry singing style but it fit the attitude of the song. Thanks again for the review. There is a video on You Tube of the drums being recorded in the studio. Thankyou for reviewing my song Funk 6/9. That song was totally all guitar and bass with the Adrenalinn groove filter pedal including mixing 3 of the drum beats together to create one drum sound. The panning and modulation were part of the effect in time with the drums fyi. I highly recomend the pedal as a song writing tool. As for Calm it was an old track using drums I recorded for a different song and transfered to a Roland 8 track. I know it needs work and perhaps one day I'll rerecord it in Pro Tools. Thanks again.
Dave, just wanted to stop in and offer you a big "thank you" for your review of Break the Silence. No... they're not real drums ha ha! You have a good ear... The guitars weren't mixed real well with this one either. I had just started breaking the surface of mic techniques when I recorded this one... any further advice or comments you can offer about the recording would be much appreciated! Best Regards, Austin

Oh yes, definitely a band I would have on my iPod! If you have time and want to hear some good hard-rock here on BJ, stop in and check out "Breaking" by Sun Voyage, (vocals are completely unstoppable), and Passin Throu's "Moving On" (remindes me of old Corrosion of Conformity and Helmet). Good people with MAD talent!
