Reviewing is hard, especially if you hate the song that comes up for review on your computer, so you have my sympathies when trying to review Push Button, which you obviously hated. However, are you really sure that EVERY element only demanded 1 out of five score? The song is extremely trite, and, as you say, probably dated, but it was only written as a bit of fun so hey! Try not to be 100% dismissive even when up against it.

Hi Joe, THANKS for your comments they were greatly appreciated, we have become quite dispirited with Broadjam as we have had some vicious attacks that had nothing to do with music so we have moved over to INDIEHEAVEN which we find far more appropriate and helpfull, you should take a look to.

Dear John, it was a pleasure to be able to comment on great material. Now could you help me? I see from your profile that you have produced and sold indie albums. How do you go about this? The production we can handle but I don't know what to do after that. Best regards and happy new year Penny

Thanks for your review of Push Button. The truth? I wouldn't really listen to this kind of thing either! It was just an idea that came along and seemed kind of fun at the time. Hey ho.

Hey Felix, we're struggling to get any of our work reviewed at all on Broadjam, in spite of having loads of review credits. It is very clear that you really know what you're doing in studio production and arrangement. Any chance you could have a listen to some of our stuff on Broadjam and pass on any wisdom or inspiration?

Thank you.

I've just listened again and the song makes me feel safe and in good hands. I guess you've achieved what you were after! Well done.
Gosh Linden, you look young to be achieving at this level!

Greetings Kevin and Penny and thanks for reviewing"He's Got Enough Love". I guess what I'm hoping to achieve is to have the listener "feel" something.Did I succeed in that regard? God bless and keep rockin',Felix

Dear Jeffrey, Let's start with observing how the scoring system works: 1= needs work, it doesn't mean 'useless' or 'go to bed and don't bother getting up again' it means 'needs work'. I gave your song mainly an 'average' score, and I'm sorry, but I still feel it deserves no more than that.Your song still needs work in a lot of ways, all of which are made clear by where I gave scores.
However, first and foremost, as I said in my criticisms, the vocal line was too low in the mix which made it extremely hard to hear properly. So, if you genuinely have any real desire to use Broadjam in the way it should be used, go and sort this problem out first and lets see where we are after that.

Hi Kevin and Penny, Just wanted you to know that your review of my song "Beautiful Jesus" was pretty worthless. Your obviously entitled to your opinions but the purpose of this community is to provide constructive criticism that allows fellow artists to improve their craft. Hopefully with time here on Broadjam you will get better at that. Jeffrey

And if you want a higher rating just give everybody 50/50, but who does that help? Can a well done song not be made better?

Kevin and Penny - it was shameful - the review you gave to 'Unconditional Love'. It really did not help me. You gave 2 and 3's. Your positive comment was 'good sentiment' and your constructive comment was 'sounds too much like other songs so I know exactly where it's going'.

Please try to be fair in your future reviews. If you thought the song sounded like others you know then would it not have been better to give less points for originality and judge the rest of the song on it's own merit.

We are all here to learn from one another and improve.

Laura

Hi Laura, I am sorry you are so unhappy with the review I gave you. I accept that I did not spend as much time as I would have liked on it, but I find reviewing songs an iterative process and I got dragged away before I could finish. However, the song is very close to another song I know, the keyboards don't sit well in the mix and your singing is out of tune in a few places. I hope this helps more.

Dear Kevin and Penny, I forgive you for not spending time to listen to 'Unconditional Love' and then giving a review based on one issue - it sounds like another song. I wish you a happy new year and improved reviewing skills in the new year.
