Well, it’s time to get your songwriting chops lubed and prepare for the 5th Annual 6-Pack Songwriting Competition.
As I mentioned, this is the fifth year of the 6-Pack. Liz Miller won the first two and Margaret McClure won the past two. I’m sure many of the veterans will be returning as I have been receiving steady inquiries about the starting date, challenges, etc. The first four categories are the annual primer (any song you have), a love song, an instrumental and a spiritual song. The last two will be announced later and I’m sure you’re going to love them!

I can’t wait to see what the veteran 6-Packers come up with and personally invite the newcomers to bring their “A” game. There’s not a songwriting competition out their quite like the Broadjam 6-Pack and you will be stretched way beyond your current capacity.
You will see lots of new technical changes coming to the 6-Pack as well. Many of these were a result of direct feedback and we threw in a few of our own. As always, I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions regarding the 6-Pack or anything else we do for that matter. You can use this blog or send me a note directly. For some reason, I suspect you will have much to talk about.
As always, our sponsors have provided the contest with great prizes – take a look. They Include Sony, IK Multimedia, Line 6, Casio, Yamaha, ASCAP, and more!
So Get Lubed (Anything), Brew Some Luv (Love Songs), Shut Yer Yap (Instrumental) and get on that Rarified High (Spiritual) as we’re getting started.
The 2009 6-Pack is rockin’ and we’re off and running. Best of luck to everyone.
Sincerely,
Roy Elkins, Broadjam Founder and CEO

Good Night, Ms. Penny.
And, you better duck, cuz the rock is 50lbs and just inches from your head. . . . hahahahahahahaha
go ahead, catch it with your hand. might just straighten out that finger. and, yes. I really don’t know why, but Johnny started this one.
Still love ya both. . .
Nov 23, 2009/6:14 pmTroCat, it’s an upload contest. how else could someone find themselves in the top 20 of the love song contest with no points but yet there in the top 20 because of how many they uploaded? lol
Nov 23, 2009/6:14 pmPeter:
Hand me a rock… lets find out.
Nov 23, 2009/6:10 pmGood evening Peter x
Nov 23, 2009/6:10 pmGoodnight Stein x
Nov 23, 2009/6:08 pmHey, Morgen: Survivor. . . you made me laugh. A truism but sometimes the asylum gets restless, almost Biblical.
Cain and Abel: borne from the fruit of life, possessing unique and opposite gifts, only to inspire jealousy and destruction from each other. I wonder what the children would think of your exchanges.
Who’s the bully?
Nov 23, 2009/6:06 pmThink of your most inspiring musician in the 6 pack then think ok they have entered this contest and entered ONE song in each can. Then think of the none musician who has also entered into the contest but they have entered nearly 150 samples of music (for better terms) all falling between the 2:15 and 2:35 mark when we all know an actual song generally hits the 3 minute mark at minimum then ask yourself why is the none musician on the leaderboard?
Nov 23, 2009/6:04 pmThink about why that is thats all i am saying.
Johnny
lol… Nice.
We’re done Johnny.
Let it go man…

Nov 23, 2009/5:55 pmchill
Nov 23, 2009/5:55 pmwhats hard work about point and click cut n paste then upload number 154th track?
Nov 23, 2009/5:54 pmHey Peter just wanted to say I appreciated your long blog rant taking place at 3:45…
Nov 23, 2009/5:52 pmAfter more reviews today, the reflection of the leaderboard…
Question, is this a “songwriting” contest, a “music making” contest, or a “popularity” contest? Pondering that one while the LB does it’s crazy dance.
Just more questions from my observations I guess.
And yes, it comes from my declination of placement on the board! Ughhh! I have to wonder how some of this music is kicking my ass? And how some of it is not?
Nov 23, 2009/5:46 pmOh yeah… and congrats on your children’s song placement.
I just got an email from TAXI dismorning mentioning several of my new tracks (produced for the 6pack mind you) are being licensed as well…
Theres a place for everything… and maybe soon… Everything will be in its right place Johnny.
Embrace a little love man… you’ll go farther in life.
Nov 23, 2009/5:33 pmJohnny, don’t be bitter… You’re more likable when your not an ass about things.
Just because I dont speak latin doesn’t mean its not a beautiful language. It just means I don’t speak Latin…
Maybe music isn’t so different.
As a teacher of music… I expect more from you.
Stop being a jealous prick about things.
I may whine about not making a leaderboard… But I would never be so rude to claim anyone in this competition isn’t a real musician.
Only a fool would suggest such things Johnny. That… or just some one going out of his way to be an ass (likely because he gets turned on by making other people feel like shit.) Yes Johnny… Every high school has at least one of you… and every last one of you has made somebody’s life a lot more complicated than it ever needed to be.
I would say more… but I think everything else was said a few months back.
Good luck getting your confidence back Johnny, maybe you can try doing it with out tearing another person’s down?
I know how discouraging things can be when life doesn’t roll the way you want it to… This competition included. But if you feel so passionate about it I suggest you get in there and start voting.
Have yourself a great day… try not to be an ass while you’re insulting the integrity of hard working artist will you?
