Roy talks to the winner of this year’s 6-Pack Songwriting Competition Steinberg Finals – Dulcie Taylor!
Congrats to Ben Sands for taking second place and Vince Constantino for taking third.
Thanks to everyone who entered the Six-Pack this year. We’ll be contacting all the winners of the cans as well as all the contestants in the Steinberg Finals, to make sure everyone gets their prizes!
Glad you posted, Steve. It was very cool to sample the sheer variety of styles you have. “Back to LAX” was cool, but “Memories of You” is my fave! Look forward to hearing the scoring songs too.
Congrats! Like everyone is saying, now comes the hard part…
intalling the gear… good luck with that.
Ian:
“Though I really think all three of you are GREAT artists and composers, My vote this year goes to Ben.”
Where can you find the insensitivity/negativity in this message? I think the only person that sees any Insensitivity/negativity in this message is you… YOU made this message become
Insensitive/negative by pointing out what’s not there.
It only states my taste (wich can’t be discussed) though I can appreciate Country and Jazz
and many of the best artists in the world can be found in these genres, I do Prefer other styles over the latter.
(and that’s the end of it)
Roy,
Thanks for all your hard work this year and changing things on the site, to make things easier for all of us! Cheers!
My advice to all the winners who need help installing all of that cool gear would be to “buy some XLR cables from Sweatwater and then rape their awesome customer support service for hints on how to hook it all up.” lol
Those guys are always looking for a new challenge to overcome. They send you candy with your gear too:) So its a real win win.
….
Roy:

Hey, TT: I started my efforts for the campaign, today. Posting to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and SkillPages. Updated my profile to offer a free download to visitors and am asking for the sale. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. . .
Thank you all for voting me into the Top Ten of the Steinberg Finals. I am honored to be among my fellow artists for the next round. Good luck to all!!!! Felice
@Floris: we will share two separate links each time we post. one of our personal works and a favorite from another member. the string appears in the top of the Broadjam player. hope that clears it up somewhat.
Congratulations to all the 6-Pack entrants and good luck as we get the final tabulations for the Leaderboard. The Steinberg Finals begin next Monday, December 5th – so keep your eyes out to see who the Top Twenty Songwriters will be who’ll be competing for the big prizes!
Penny, when a song can touch you and make you cry then the artist has done his/her work. Your music has touched me that way and I have the box of Kleenex’s by my side:) xoxo
I agree with N. Jones’ comments – since some of us know whose songs these are – it’s difficult to give a fair vote – it would be much better to rate them individually – that way it doesn’t turn into a popularity contest. I also noticed that the three songs are in different categories – how do you compare an instrumental to a comedy song? Don’t mean to be critical – just a thought.
So, we’re coming down to the last two and a half weeks of the 6-Pack (with discounted submissions ending on Monday at noon CST!) before we get into the intense Steinberg Finals that’s set to begin on December 5th. We’d love to know which can you think has been the most challenging so far. We pride ourselves on the fact that the 6-Pack is the most challenging songwriting contest on the Internet and we’d love your feedback on which can seems to be the most difficult?
You never know when someone might say something about the can that they struggled with (and hopefully eventually conquered!) will help you in your own songwriting…
for those of you who might find this whole six pack wind-down and tabulation of reviews a nerve-wracking elevator ride, please allow me to share these precious moments. . .
The more I watch the conversations here, it becomes clearer than ever to me that the 6-Pack is so much more than the competition. Hearing how different songwriters approach the Cans, rating the songs, seeing who’s rising to the top on any given day… it’s really an amazing experience. So keep making those connections and writing together, that’s why we’re all here.
We’re getting a lot of good feedback regarding the Steinberg Finals. I am really looking forward to it. Here’s another new twist in the 6-Pack. At noon CST on October 7, the entry price per song will go to $5. And on November 7, it will go to $10. So get your songs in and keep reviewing. Best of luck,
Hi Ellen,
You are definitely eligible for the Finale if you don’t enter into all six cans. You just have to have three songs entered into the 6-Pack, period. They can even be in one can. The 20 songwriters with the most points will go to the Finale.
This is my first time submitting to the 6-pack. Others seem to know how this works. I don’t see a post about it. If I missed it, please direct me there. My question is: am I eligible for the finale if I don;t enter all 6 cans?
Check out the newest tab on the 6-Pack pages. The action has started on the Steinberg Finals! After all the Cans close and the ratings are run, the top 20 songwriters will be your finalists. And your run for the grand prize will be tough – there are two elimination rounds in the Finals – but well worth it: Our partners at Steinberg have put together an ultimate studio solution product package valued at over $10,000!
A leader board for the Finals has been added to show you who’s in the top 20 at any given moment. All of the important dates and rules for the Finals are on the Steinberg Finals page for you, too.
Congrats to Dulcie… great stuff… Runner up and third place not too shabby either…congrats to all who entered
TT
Vince
