Hey all,
A few days ago, I wrote about Broadjam.com’s migration to a new platform, and I want to give you a quick update. The transition is going very well, and we’re looking forward to finishing in the next few days. Most major issues have been resolved, and a few others are being worked on as we speak. To date, we’ve heard from about 25 of our members and we greatly appreciate any feedback that you can offer. Please keep it coming.
One thing you can do to enhance your experience is to upgrade your system to the latest version of Firefox, Internet Explorer or any other browser you might be on. (This will probably enhance your overall Internet experience, as well.)
We realize there are still outstanding issues, and thank you in advance for your patience. Our customer service team is working closely with our developers, so a note to customerservice@broadjam.com will receive a quick response. Or, as always, you can email me at roy@broadjam.com
Thanks again for your support.
Roy

Hi Roy,
I might as well join the group on the new site problems. Can’t review, see no reviews of my own music or get notifications like it use to be. As for deliveries, there seems to be a problem there to. More pop ups or it just doesn’t take. I have tried not to use AOl but other search engines and the same problems.
It is very frustrating because Delivery dates are coming up and I can’t enter my music. I know Broadjam wants to be very high tech but the old system was much better. Another thing I noticed is that when I go into edit my songs are reversed in order starting with the last to the first though the playlist seems to be right. I tried reversing the numbers and that through off the playlist.
Hope you get the bugs out soon because if the members want to send producers or library people to listen to their music they will lose patience. Just getting things to load takes forever.
Sorry about the complaints and hope things get back to normal soon.

Mar 3, 2008/11:27 pmHi Roy,
Mar 3, 2008/8:39 amI am using Safari for an Apple computer and I cannot scroll down on peoples homepages to see their news or other information. Maybe it’s my own problem but it seems to have started since your web update.
Hopefully this can be worked out eventually. Many thanks , a big Broadjam fan, Penny
Hey Roy
Just a followup to my post from yesterday about song descriptions disappearing after a few lines. Just noticed the same thing on my “Completed Song Reviews”.
Not sure whether the same is true for “Reviews Of My Music” because it’s not often that I get more than a line or two of comment from others.
While I’m on the subject, will this platform upgrade allow us to view the artist’s names who have reviewed us without having to open up the review like the on the “Completed Song Reviews” page where all the artists names are visible at a glance?
I’ve gotten over 300 reviews, some of them extremely helpful, but outside of keeping an external file, if I want to go back and reexamine a particularly useful one, it can be a very time consuming and random process without the artist’s name being visible.
Thanks
Cameron
Mar 1, 2008/2:55 pmCameron,
Thanks. That’s a new one for us. We will look into it asap.
Claire,
We’re on it and thanks for your thoughts. The review issues seem to be sporatic, but we are chasing each one down.
Also, all the data is being captured so the Top 10s will be updated once all is resolved.
Ian, Rick,
Thanks for the updates. They help as well even if there isn’t anything to report.
Note: A newsletter will be coming this week.
To everyone. Thanks again for your feedback, support and patience. This is a move we had to make and we believe it will only enhance the site in the months to come.
Regards,
Roy
Mar 1, 2008/12:14 pmNot received a Newsletter or any other e-mail updates since 16th February. Apart from that, all’s good.
Mar 1, 2008/9:43 amHi Roy, just reporting in……my page and the reviewing pages all working fine now Matey….the page for Reviews I’ve Done…looks New….no worries…probably supposed to look different….anyways everything seems to be OK here.
Mar 1, 2008/8:39 amThanks All…. Your doin’ a Grand Job!
Speaking in tongues…
The only area where I’m having a major problem is in listening to songs for review. I can listen to songs submitted to contests, I can listen to songs other people have on their Broadjam profiles, but now instead of the message to “disable your popup blocker for Broadjam” I’m getting:
Undefined value
on line number undefined
In file undefined
Huh? And if I click “ok” (which is the only way I can get rid of the message) I get:
an error occurred during AJAX Response handling.
Wellll okaaaay…I sure hope that helps you resolve my issue with giving and getting reviews (of which I have had none since this started). I’d like to be able to do that. Or, if it’s not going to happen, I’d like my recently renewed membership fee returned. No blame, no biggie, but if you guys can’t fix this problem for me, I’d like to move on. Thanks.
Feb 29, 2008/8:23 pmThought I’d wait until things settled down a bit. I too have experienced most of the problems I’ve read about here.
But most of the weirdness has subsided for me except my Song Descriptions. All my “Story Behind The Song”s which are longer than a paragraph are chopped off in mid-sentence after just a few lines and have disappeared, both on my Artist Profile and my Broadjam hosted website.
Noticed it last week but it has yet to correct itself. Same thing for “Long Song Description”. I’m using Vista and IE 7. Anyone else encountered this? Certainly hope Broadjam has backup for these.
Thanks
Cameron Smith
Feb 29, 2008/7:30 pmIan,
Thanks for the note and the comments. We believe we have most of the issues addressed, but still looking at and tweaking various systems. Let me know if anything comes up that I should be aware of. Of course, you can always email directly as well at Roy@Broadjam.com
Thanks,
Roy
Feb 29, 2008/11:03 amoops….looks like we made Roy angry……lol… at least My Mate David saved himself from being thought of as a dork like the rest of us….lol.
wonder if I should think the same about anyone who cant keep up with me on the guitar….lol
Hey Roy…I dont know diddly £$%%^ about computers or websites…
Feb 28, 2008/3:56 pmI was just letting you know I was having trouble aswell…with a PC not a Mac….and I did put LOL after each of my lines in my first post…just to let you know I was only windin’ you guy’s up…..lol… I’ve probably made matters worse now…so I’ll sign off before I get thrown off…..he he
Thanks to everyone for all of your passionate comments. David, a special thanks to you. It’s clear you have been through this process before. For us, this is a major upgrade as we prepare Broadjam.com for lots of new features. We just felt that the old platform was too outdated to pursue the new technologies that we want to incorporate this year…..Once we get an answer to the review question and get it resolved, I’ll let you know.
Thanks,
Roy
Feb 27, 2008/1:55 pmI’m not opening any pop up blockers just for Broadjam reviews. Ain’t happenin’. I’ve been on Broadjam since I got the Mac 3 years ago and have never had a problem with Safari or with the Mac or with hearing anything on Broadjam. I have no problem listening to music on TAXI. I have no problem listening to music anywhere else. I’m not the one who created this problem for me so I’d appreciate whoever it is…fix it.
Feb 27, 2008/8:09 amHi All, Roy,
Feb 27, 2008/7:04 amJust thought I’d chip in too, when I try to do any reviewing…
I have to open my Pop-up-Blocker…before I’m shown the review song and player…..after listening to the song, the only option I have is to close that page the player is on….and Hey Presto…….I’m back at my Desktop…
throws me right off the internet…….lol… cant be doin’ with that….hope its sorted out soon….or we’ll have to start uploading our songs somewhere else….lol
Hi Roy,
Today was the day I was going to make reviews a part of my daily routine. When I was unable to do reviews because a pop-up said I couldn’t, I read here about the problem. I guess maybe next week will be the day. Also, I tried to upload a new song to my playlist and got something like ‘Session doesn’t exist’ page. Now I know this is my fault for waiting til the last minute to enter some stuff into the feb contest, but do you think this issue will be resolved soon enough to submit?
David isn’t the first computer wiz who’s advised Mac users to get Firefox and not use Safari….
