Hey all,
A few days ago, I wrote about Broadjam.com’s migration to a new platform, and I want to give you a quick update. The transition is going very well, and we’re looking forward to finishing in the next few days. Most major issues have been resolved, and a few others are being worked on as we speak. To date, we’ve heard from about 25 of our members and we greatly appreciate any feedback that you can offer. Please keep it coming.
One thing you can do to enhance your experience is to upgrade your system to the latest version of Firefox, Internet Explorer or any other browser you might be on. (This will probably enhance your overall Internet experience, as well.)
We realize there are still outstanding issues, and thank you in advance for your patience. Our customer service team is working closely with our developers, so a note to customerservice@broadjam.com will receive a quick response. Or, as always, you can email me at roy@broadjam.com
Thanks again for your support.
Roy

Ouestion what is the ratio of the number of music reviews to the number of reviews of my music? I have completed 609 reviews of other Broadjam artist and have only had 482 reviews of my music.
Feb 26, 2008/1:18 pmHey Roy.
Yeah, the review mechanism is funky. We received an all no review on one or our new project songs for the Abbey Normals the other day and were wondering what was going on. Also, you guys will probably have issues with Safari and the Mac. Safari doesn’t play well with Flash at all and it absolutely hates Ajax code and doesn’t play well with PHP either. Esepecially PHPN pages. There are better browsers out there for the Mac. Firefox is one of them. IE is buggy on the Mac (this is for Claire), but you might want to look at using Firefox for the Mac so you can view Flash sites. Apple has tons of complaints from its users on this and Adobe has been blasted by Safari for not coding properly for its browser. There’s always a fight between who is right and who is wrong. I have 4 different ones on my PC that I use. Some work well, some are buggy with Flash. I know that Adobe is feverishly working on the latest version of Flash 10 to get it in the public’s hands by mid Spring so that it works with Safari and on their IPhones. I just wish Apple would fix their browsers to comply with world wide standards.
Every great site goes through growing pains while upgrading. You guys will get there.

Feb 26, 2008/10:55 amMorning, Roy. Safari is still telling me to allow pop ups for Broadjam so I guess I still can’t review. That’s the only place where this is happening but if I can’t review, I can’t get reviewed and if I can’t get reviewed I can’t pat myself on the back for being all over the Country and Tennessee Top 10 charts and that’s going to take half the fun out of Broadjam for me. I’m already starting to fall off the charts and I haven’t had any reviews of my songs pretty much since this transition started. Sigh.
Feb 26, 2008/5:50 amClaire,
Just an update for you. You will not need to enable/disable your pop-up blocker from here on out.
Hope that helps.

Feb 25, 2008/7:18 pmNaldo,
Thanks for your note. Not sure at the moment what’s up with the reviews, but I will check into it in the morning when I get in. I’ll let you know then.
Thanks,
Roy

Feb 24, 2008/8:07 amThanks for the feedback everyone. Can you post your browser and operating system or send them to me directly to roy@broadjam.com?
I am using I.E. 7 on Windows XP. Operating system would be helpful as well.
This helps us recreate the environment that you’re working in.

Feb 24, 2008/7:19 amWell, I’m having all kinds of problems. Can’t sort my songs & everytime I try & finally get it back in the correct order the songs become jumbled again. The three songs on my homepage are the LAST THREE not the first & everything on my hosted site is jumbled. I’m just about at the end of my rope trying to straighten things out. Also, nothing shows up when I go to “my deliveries”.
Feb 23, 2008/8:35 pmHi Roy, Just want you to be aware that My Profile page is operational again, though have new reviews that give “no” as a grade in all categories….Generally speaking and thankfully, “no” is not an option in the music review pages.
Feb 23, 2008/7:28 pmWell apparently I’m going to be the designated kvetcher for today. I can search for an artist and I can hear the artist’s song. But NOW…the review process? Omigod. I can’t review a song because I get that “disable pop up blocker” message (again, I’m on a mac). And I’ve just looked at the last reviews I got on my own songs – what happened to the 1-5 scale? I’ve got “yes” and “no” responses that don’t make any sense (does this song have market potential – yes…would you like to hear more from this artist – no). Uh…? If you need to see what I’m seeing, go to the review on “Fixin’”. If I can’t review other artists’ songs and if I can’t get viable reviews of my own songs, that’s not a good thing.
Sorry.
Claire
