We are about two and a half months away from the launch of the 5th annual Broadjam 6-Pack Songwriting Challenge, and this year is going to be sweet! We have some new features, an incredible prize package, and great – but not easy – songwriting challenges. So dust off your thinking caps, acquire lots of coffee, a pencil, paper, and prepare for some late night recording sessions because this 6-Pack is going to be better than ever.
What updates or challenges would you like to see for 2009 6-Pack?

Ian.
yeah…Roy said they were thinkin’ about letting the reviewers be exposed this year…like the regular review process…”transparency”…his word…
Feb 22, 2009/12:36 pmTransparency?
Feb 20, 2009/6:41 amI take no credit for dumping my entire portfolio into the 1 can last year…. Blame my compulsive investor:)
Although there should be a ten to twenty song limit per can, either that, or set up the review system so reviewers won’t get stuck reviewing one artist over and over.
Feb 20, 2009/6:31 amMarge,
The first year there was a 10 song limit per can….over six months…that kinda worked…cos’ you’d have to space things out….I even think 6 would work per can …6 x 6 ….that fits nicely,,,,6 months…6 cans…6 pack…6 in the city..(?)…Anyway…
Also, if they do the “transparency” thing that Roy talked about…that would be cool,,,kinda take the mystery out of the reviewing, but in a good way.

Feb 20, 2009/5:52 amwhat ? another 6pack ?? aaaaaahhhhhh! im gonna go hide under a rock with liz and john in the desert with no internet connection…(and my new custom us masters guitar)
anyway i’ve thought long and hard about the song limit thing and i think it would be good to limit the amount of songs that can be entered in each can…
those of us that have played the game before know it does not pay to dump 40 songs in one can. but new comers like protilius don’t know that.. and it is a bummer for them and for the reviewers
im not saying the limit has to be low.. that would not be any fun … no no no…im all for freedom
but maybe limit it to 20 or 25 songs per can .. and possibly a one song per day quota ..in my opinion …that would take care of quite a few problem’s
.”im just sayin’”

Feb 19, 2009/6:11 pmOh please boys!!!
You gotta turn that last suggestion (or something equally entertaining) into a challenge!
I’d LOVE IT!!!
Feb 19, 2009/3:22 pmOr… And this is my favorite suggestion for a six pack challenge.
Produce a track at 3/3 tempo in the Scale of G-minor at 83 bpm that utilizes more than five timbres not found in a drumkit (that’ll freak those newb producers out alright!!!!)
Hahahahahahahaha….. Lovin it.
Feb 19, 2009/1:54 pmMulti Genre music:
Combine two distinct styles of music production to form a marriage of very different genres that sounds like it should have always been done this way.
Rock/Metal
Feb 19, 2009/1:51 pmRap/R&B
Country/Folk
Electronica/Dance
Goth/Industrial
Soundtrack/Orchestral
Thanks Dave!

Hey guys,
The “old” blog is on the “ongoing and new blogging encouraged here” page. This one will house the ‘new’ 6-pack blog, I guess.
2 1/2 months from now. Seems all too soon. I can’t wait!
