Well, I’ve got loads of good news, but I can only let one out of the bag so far. I have been invited to perform live on the Today Show in Sydney (almost 2000km from Adelaide in South Australia). The date has yet to be set, but we’re aiming for the 20th July. In case you don’t know, it’s a morning breakfast show that covers Australia and New Zealand (a bit like Good Morning America, I think). Many thanks to all of you who have sent me beautiful emails of good wishes and encouragement. I’m enjoying the generous friendships I’ve made here and will hope to meet some of you in the not-so-distant future.

Joe talks about his music: ‘I would say that my music is hard driving and diverse by incorporating many different styles of play. I would characterize my sound as being in the Hard Rock to Metal/Thrash genre with a strong emphasis on the blazing guitar solo with strong gut-pounding rhythms.’
How and when you started making music: ‘I have been playing guitar seriously since about the age of fourteen and especially after listening to the guitar play of Randy Rhodes, Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield. Plus, Jimmy Page, Darrell “Dimebag” Abbott and Eddie Van Halen all helped to instill the desire in me to want to make music.’
‘I have always had a natural passion and interest in music of all genres and I am determined to gain mastery of the guitar. My goal is to have a long and meaningful career as a musician and a composer.’
Major influences: Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Michael Angelo Batio, Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth and Testament.
What makes your music different: ‘I devote myself to listening to music across all genres. To create my music, I combine the emotion of blues, the technicality of neo-classical and the improvisational methods of jazz. My own innate creativity comes through in the sound I produce.’
Key career highlights: ‘I initially started playing open mics in local clubs. Then I decided to record a CD in a professional music studio. Having the CD ’ A Long Road to Hell’ has allowed me to expose listeners from all over the world to my music via the use of the internet.
Notable career highlights to date include:
Metal To Infinity: CD Review and Interview.
OVERDRIVE: Airplay on Belgian radio geared to Metal music.
MetaliZatioN: Podcast show featuring four songs on Stockholm Syndrome Show.
Guitar 9 Records: CD Review on The Undiscovered segment.
Hardaxe Radio: Airplay.
The Guitarist Radio Program in Istanbul: Airplay.
TAXI: Favorable song review of Back to Life.
Metal Sanaz: My photo prominently included on her promo poster.
Why it’s important for you to connect with music fans and what do you have to offer them as an artist: ‘My music is far-reaching and appeals to both the general audience and the underground audience. I feel that my ability, character, power and intelligence of my playing will come through and music fans in any age bracket will hear “something” new that they can find interesting with my style of play. This should ensure long term staying power.’

Jun 30, 2007/3:51 pmWho Is Listening To Your Music?
Jun 29, 2007/7:39 amIf the Internet Radio Equity Act doesn’t receive your support in Congress, the answer to that question will be, “far fewer people will be listening to music created by independent artists”. The powers-that-be are attempting to raise royalty rates and the way song-plays are counted on internet radio-casts in a way that will result in severely cutting the number of available stations where artists can get valuable exposure for their music.
The silence will be deafening.
Let your voice be heard, help us stop unreasonable laws that benefit only the rich and famous by supporting the Internet Radio Equity Act. The music you save will be yours.
http://www.KickRadio.com is doing everything we can to bring awareness to this ‘silence’. Watch this space and watch for KickRadio in the July 23rd Broadjam Newsletter.

There is a lot of discussion going on about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION so I thought I would throw my two cents in,..
On my site, http://www.woundedego.com you will find a song I just posted called “Oh California - Re Illegal Immigation.”
It seems that the flag of California was drawn up during Mexican rule - which was not adequate. The ILLEGALES - white folks - revolted and became the free state of California! Is it happening again, only in the opposite direction?!
Check it out!
