Hey Ray, Things are going well, I’ve had 2 songs in the country Blues top 10 (“you got what it takes” & “Sneak McGraw and Skinny Dupree”) and “Music’s like that “in the Jazz top 10.I know its not a big deal but it’s good for the ego. Yo Cameron, I was contacted by Ray after giving him a review that he thought was good from a reviewers point of view and was honest from my point of view. Whenever i get a review that has had no thought whatsoever put into it i write to the reviewer and say… “Thank you for your minimalistic review of my song” at least to let them know they gave a useless review. Thanks for the post, I’m glad you liked the song. You can tell your wife that the woman I dedicated it to wasn’t too happy with the song or me. But that song would have never got written if I’d been too pleased with her either.
Hope things are going well with your music, you’ve got some good tunes.

“ABANDONED BLUES” IS RELEASED AND ON SALE TODAY. The Cd may be purchased at Broadjam.com, CD Baby and soon, if not already, available as downloads from iTunes, Rhapsody and all other music download web sites!
“ABANDONED BLUES” resembles a collaboration of Dr John, Marc Cohn, Bruce Hornsby and Sir Elton John. From the first cut to the last is a joy.
“ABANDONED BLUES” is progressive and tells a story, taking the listener on a pleasant, sometimes introspective, journey where upon ending and the listener may be motivated to get up and maybe, just maybe dance the dance which is his favourite.
Hi., Submitted my song “Headin’ For My Baby” to http://www.sundownonair.com and in no time the song was all over Europe, several european radio stations use this demo station to find new stuff., it’s a sub-site of http://www.sundownsongs.com I think…. and it’s free…peace John
I agree with you Tony, and I already know how you feel Ray! And you use the word “artist” very generously when referring to these individuals.
I have one song in particular, “Don’t Bring Your D. A. Here”, which is a humorous tale about women during that special time of the month, that brings out the absolute worst behavior in some of the males on this network.
Even though it’s been in review for two years now and has been in the S. East, Progressive Rock, Modern Rock and S. Carolina Top 10 on multiple occasions ( fortunately there’s more cool people on BJ than not), it’s been consistently and needlessly trashed all this time.
How are these for some helpful and constructive comments from our peers: “The intro is too long and stupid”, “Very boring”, “The instrumentation sucks”, “Clown music should be left for the circus” “Cheesy keyboard sounds”, “An absolutely hideous excuse for a song”, “He should be singing in the subways of Bangkok”. I’ve even been personally insulted and called names I won’t even mention.
After two years of continual abuse, I’ve finally had enough and I’ve taken it out of review, but why did it have to come to that? I’m here to be noticed just like everyone else.
I can deal with low scores, but why leave insults on the way out too. Are these people (virtually all males, ironically, most women seem to like the song) afraid of the competition? Are they totally intolerant of music they don’t like? Both?? I welcome anyone on this network to visit my site and listen to this song and see for themselves if any of the above characterizations fit.
Maybe a 1/5 shouldn’t get a full review credit unless it’s accompanied by 3 or 4 lines of Constructive Comments. Or maybe we should all just start posting these mean-spirited reviews on the blog here along with the names of the reviewer.
I don’t know but I’d love to get some feedback on this issue. And I’ll end with the fact that most artists on BJ give decent reviews, some of which have been very useful, and I’ve made some good friends and connections through the review process.
