I would like to respond to Abbot’s comment concerning musical genre. I am finding many songs in Broadjam’s repertory that are mislabeled especially within the Classical genre. For instance, when a review is done, I select Classical–Contemporary and I find I am listening to a lot of pop songs. What I am NOT saying is that many songs cannot be ‘cross-overs’ and bring elements from several different genres into play. Gershwin, Ravel, and Philip Glass quickly come to mind. Glass’s cycle ‘Songs from Liquid Days’ is a good example of pop elements fused with the classical art song. I also hear a great deal of music from the TV/Film style within the Classical Subcategory genres. This has to be done because there is no single category for TV/Film–maybe there should be.
Respectfully,

Hi Abbot,
Thanks for your comments on Rap and Hip Hop as separate genres. As for your issues with not getting notification, please contact our Customer Service department at customerservice@broadjam.com.
Apr 3, 2009/4:27 pmNothing is perfect, but I have notice a couple of things with broadjam that bothers me, the 1st thing is why is rap and
hip- hop considered the same genre? They are not the same and should be seperate from each other.
The 2nd thing that bothers me is when you get a review, and keep in mind its only that person opinion, they pretty much give you a bad review, you then go to their link, and see that reviewer’s genre of music is rock. I feel the random viewing should not be allowed, and reviews should come from the reviewer of the same genre.
