Founders Blog: website migration

For the past few months, our development group has been rebuilding the foundation of our website - moving it from one platform to another. For the most part, these changes will be invisible to you. Why do we do things like this when the site seems to be running fine? Sometimes I ask myself the same thing…LOL.

But in all seriousness, to keep a competitive advantage, we have to stay on the front edge of new technology, whether it’s behind the scenes or not. Overhauls like this enable us to add new features quickly and efficiently… all of which we’ll be talking about more as the year unfolds. What does this mean to you? We would like to continue to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

We have a lot of great ideas for where we want to take the site, but yours are even more important. If you have features or improvements you’d like to see, I ask you to put your idea in this blog feedback or email me directly at roy@broadjam.com.

Thanks for being a member of Broadjam,

Roy

  • Hi Roy. I am not sure if it is just me, but I can’t seem to review any songs for Contests and Deliveries. I was able to do this just fine before. I am taken to a page that says there are no more songs for review although I haven’t reviewed any at all! Also, when I go to review the lyrics in the pre-6-pack contest, there are no buttons next to the lyrics for me to rate the songs. Let me know if you need any more information.

    Thanks,
    K. Sirrah

  • Thanks for resolving my problem with me not being able to access my artist profile to do editing. I can now access and edit. It is slow editing the order of my songs, however.

I am giving Broadjam a chance to work out all bugs in the new system. I know you’re working hard. I do hope there will be some plan to show the highest rated songs…not just Top 10 but a Top 200 in all genres, as well as overall Top 200.

You’re welcome. But I.E. 6 will work again with broadjam, correct? I’m sure many computer users are still on 6. I want to be confident that when I give potential clients my broadjam link they will be able to view my profile!!

  • MNICK,

Thanks for your comments and I.E. 7 will solve most of the issues. We are still working on the song ordering issue and should have that resolved shortly.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Roy

  • As near as I can tell, it seems to be a problem with anyone using I.E. version 6. I still can’t get on from my computer. Another weird thing- when I looked from a computer with I.E. 7, my song sorting was ignored. Songs were displayed reverse alphabetical instead of the sorted order.

Hope it will be fixed soon also, I have potential clients I’d like to be able to send here to check out some tunes.

  • Can’t get into my profile let alone a member profile.
    hope this issue is temporary.

    THANK YOU

  • Hell Roy,

I think there may be problems with your website rebuilding. I haven’t been able to access my (Michael Nickolas), or any other artists page, over the last few days. I just get a blank screen when using Internet Explorer. Netscape is working though. At one point I got a very detailed error screen. I’ll paste in just the beginning of it as it is very long. I can send the full html version via regular email, if you contact me at michael@studionineproductions.com

I’ve tried all the usual, deleting cookies, internet files, history and etc. with no success. Is there a known issue you are having with Internet Explorer at this time? Thank you, Michael Nickolas
