Our friends at Full Compass have provided us with a new product for the Broadjam Blog Giveaway. Up for grabs is the Audio-Technica M3M Wireless In-Ear Monitor System (List Price: $1,099.00). In ear monitors are best for vocalists and drummers, but the whole band can benefit from this audio tool. It can really help you to focus in on your own performance, cut down some extraneous noise, and mix in the right amount of other performers’ music.
The Audio-Technica M3M includes EP3 Headphones (in-ear dynamic headphones), M3T stereo transmitter (wireless UHF transmitter), and the M3RM body-pack stereo receiver. Both the transmitter and receiver have LCD displays that allow the user to select the proper settings. The body pack receiver allows the performer to control two separate mixes. You can have a mix of the band in one ear and vocals in the other, which is very cool. This system supports an unlimited number of receivers, so the whole band can enjoy the benefits of in-ear monitors. To read more about the specs for the Audio-Technica M3M please check it out at Full Compass. Additional M3RM body-pack receivers can be easily ordered from Full Compass, so everyone in the band can benefit.
So here is what you need to do to win this product. Post a comment telling everyone why you should have the Audio-Technica M3M Wireless In-Ear Monitor System, what features stand out and how you would use it. For the next few weeks we will review the comments. And then one of you will walk away with the Audio-Technica M3M In-Ear Monitor System, courtesy of Full Compass.
Best of luck,
Roy

Hello Roy,
Oct 1, 2008/2:29 pmThanks for offering this great gear.
Yes it would be very useful to me since I am a Vocalis, rhythm guitarist and a recording engineer for my band DriZZle.
Since its wireless it ll help me perform live on stage, to concentrate better even though I perform live and move around I ll always have Audio-Technica M3M in-ear Monitors with me, so it would be great to have. Infact its a very useful gear for the whole band as we all move on stage.
Another thing is it would also help me do the mixing while recording live, experimenting with songs in the practise sessions as well.
Thanks.
DriZZle

Dear Broadjam, I would love to get a chance to try this monitor system. This sounds like the perfect solution to both my band practice and my live on stage vocal monitor problem. To be a female singer competing with a booming drum set behind you, the screaming electric guitar and thumping electric bass on your left and right,
you need something that can pump your vocal mix right back into your ears so you can hear yourself loud enough to just sing INSTEAD OF SCREAMING to hear your own voice. My vocal cords and I thank you.

Sep 30, 2008/1:06 pmThank you for this opportunity.
Last year, in our community, we saw several teenagers take their lives within a stone’s throw of our church. Suicide and depression are rampant among teens throughout the country, but these hit home for us as a faith community because we knew these kids. We know their parents. Our group committed ourselves to serving these teens by providing uplifting music, strong role models, and a place to go to find hope and strength to face the problems they face in their homes. Our Church has committed to providing a worship service every Sunday night for these teens and our music is contemporary Christian music aimed at providing a sense of hope to these young people so that they can become stronger and more dependent upon themselves to be better people and stop the cycle of damaging self perspective.
What we do, we do voluntarily with no expectations of anyone other than ourselves and our ability to connect with these teens. This monitoring system that you are giving away is the only way we can afford something like this and would improve our sound for sure. As we try to converge classic rock sound, with comtemporary themes along with ancient hymns, our range of music varies tremendously over the course of a couple hour’s time. This system would help us to create the dynamics needed to be quiet when one needs time to reflect and rock out when its time to celebrate.
Recently, a teen from our community said, “thank you, I feel good again”.
Please consider our request to win this package!
Thanks again.
Sep 30, 2008/10:20 amThank you again to everyone that has posted so far. We had several members request we extend the deadline for this blog giveaway, so they could add their post. We will continue to accept posts through September 30, 2008. So please tell us how you would use the Audio-Technica M3M Wireless In-Ear Monitor System. The best post will get this great piece of gear for free, courtesy of Full Compass.
Thanks,

Sep 24, 2008/3:01 pmstate radio sound ingeneer from reunion island!
rock and more player that never listen to it ! always have to listen to screaming monitors..
hell can you give us this monitoring system!
I am lead singer songwriter of a working cover band and we use backing tracks on an IPOD that the drum must sync to… The drummer uses big headphones but they look entirely dorky. In-ears would be WAY cooler. I have an all-girl band that plays the casino circuit, and we also do shows at middle schools and high schools… no matter where we are the in-ears would be a great way to sync with tracks!! I’d like to try them as a vocalist too!

I NEED THE Audio-Technica M3M Wireless In-Ear Monitor System TO RECORD AND PERFOM WITH MY CHURCH CHOIR.
Sep 22, 2008/3:20 amHi Everyone,
Im the female lead singer/ percussionist/ guitarist for the band “Seventhings” and also the band “The Rockinvaders” and would LOVE to have this in ear monitor system.. Let me count the ways…….
1) we play in so many different venues and the sound is never the same. Sometimes we play out side with wind and crowd noise.. the stage monitors don’t work outside and they dont work if you decide to say…move around the stage..
We also have another lead vocalist who is a man .. when we switch the mix is not right and we are constantly adjusting things to get a good balance …
2) we trade places and instruments on stage alot in our band but i still have to sing at least back up no matter where I am and in some spots i can hear… in some i cant..
2) I am really sick of not being able to hear my vocal and tired of asking everyone “did i sound ok?” alot of time’s people say they cant hear my voice cut through the music and i cant tell on stage
3) i hate earplugs..
4) they look cool ! I’m all about that !
5) I would feel more confident and professional..
6) Our drummer would benefit hugely because he has his monitor up so loud it messes the rest of us up sometime but he really needs to hear the lead vocal.
7)sometimes the stage’s can be so small that we cant fit enough of those big clunky monitors so we actually have to share and if it comes to deciding between me or george (the drummer) ..well we have to give it to him..
9) I have several musician friends who have used the m3m wireless system and say it makes a huge difference and takes your performance to a new level.. they would never go back to the old way .
10) Oh and my pitch issues that i sometimes have would be improved (i dont like to admit that one)
11) If i had the audio technica m3m wireless system my days of sharing and straining to hear
myself would be over! This is an awesome product !! Our mix would be Righteous!!!!!
Thanks,

As the sound tech, recording engineer, lead guitarist & only guy in a 5 piece rock band where everyone sings, this in ear system would make my life soooo much easier! Our drummer is our main backup vocalist who has a great ear for harmonies, but NOT a loud voice, the M3M would be a godsend-she can never have enough monitor because the lead singer has a HUGE voice.PLEASE HELP ME! We live in a very small town in the Rockie mountains-the nearest music store is 2 hours away-this moniter system would help us a lot.
Sep 12, 2008/10:48 amThanks,

Sep 5, 2008/6:33 pmI am a musician – composer, writer, producer whose work ranges from jazz to punk to film scores to ambient electronica. I have played on stages from northern Canada to the bottom of South America.
When I was fifteen years old I befriended a sound guy who kept as close to my hip as possible for the last 15 years. The reason? I learned through experience, that regardless of the countless rehearsals, the gear purchases, the wardrobe and the sweat that transpires to put on the best show onstage, if the balance of the sound coming out of the PA’s sucks, then that is what the audience will ultimately experience.
Well my best friend/sound guy has now produced three records with me. We take great care with all that we do and we pass on the wisdom we earn to others via our DIY webisodic “Rock Soup” (check it out on YouTube etc) where we show up and comers tips and tricks on how to get the best sound for themselves. My buddy is now a high-level monitors guy for some of the biggest acts touring through Canada and he begs me to switch over to an in-ear system so that I can get a consistent image of what he is doing from the sidelines to help me out onstage
Aug 25, 2008/9:00 pmI’M BROKE!
Aug 20, 2008/9:36 pmBesides that when I was on the road it was great finally hearing everybody to my personal likings without finding a “Safe” spot on stage!
Plus Audio Technica is my first choice for Live Vocal Mics, So I definitely trust your sound and craftsmanship!
Good Job keep it up cause I hate Shure Mics!

PRAISE!
Those of you that know me for a while, know that I’m blessed to have a
significant other, Kristin, who’s quite a country pop/rock vocalist and writer(2 straight years on the Broadjam Country-Rock Top 10)……you also know about my phenomenal vocalist daughter Brooke….equally adept at any genre music, with classical/opera being her true forte!
I wanted to praise Brooke on this blog as having the #2 Classical as well as the #2 pop song and also #1 Easy Listening on the Broadjam charts!
These songs have remained in these positions for months already!
I strongly urge you to stop by our page and listen to Brooke, Kristin, and while you’re there, check out my band!
Thanks!

Aug 17, 2008/10:26 pmI wanna pop this thing in my ear and fly on stage..thats the best feature..pop it and flyyyyy!!
Aug 13, 2008/5:30 amI am so excited about this product! As the lead singer/songwriter of our group, it is imperative that my vocals be spot-on while performing. I have tried a very inferior (ok, cheap), in-ear monitoring system, and it didn’t make it past rehearsal! Just a waste of money really. I love that this Audio-Technica system has Personal Mix Control, so I can adjust the sound to meet my needs. Also, the adjustable squelch must be heaven. Static is the worst! It’s irritating, and makes me cranky! Let’s not forget comfort either! With four different eartips to choose from, these in-ear headphones are bound to be comfortable! There are so many great features about this product, but for me, as a singer, these features I have mentioned are major selling points. But really what it all comes down to is sound. How do they sound? With a superior manufacturer, like Audo-Technica, and so many great features, I’m quite sure it’s sublime! So please, please choose me to receive this awesome package!
