Thanks PGO for your comments. So here we have it…Social Networking platforms, what the hell’s that!. It only takes a month to gather a nominal 500 people around the table in one network, do they know who I am, sure not, do they know what I do? Hell yeah…I’ve probably lost 100 persons on the way during that period but never mind, cause I attack soft taboos. 500 people who have an average of about 300 friends makes 150.000 virtual friends, who’s digging ? If I do this every month and with every new friend a friend is also going to have a friend in time, I’ll be reaching well over 2 million people every year. In reality I reach a lot more because I drop into Groups of various sizes, some with considerable impact. Multiply that with a few networks and you’ll be reaching more people directly then you can dream of or that a record company could pretend to seduce. Another mutiplying factor would be to work a little more closely within the Broadjam community which has a tendency to skid off and play the loner…industry sickness ?, frankly I don’t give a clue.
There is no time to waste folks, the path is wide open and it’s yours to take …Of course I’d appreciate if the Broadjam engineers could improve on Widgets, Thumnail rolls plus song URL captions…All the best to you all.

Max: great idea because it is an important topic. Broadcast radio as we knew it has become a narrow tunnel with limited rotation. CD sales have plummeted causing the music labels and publishers to lay off hundreds of employees. Karaoke DJ’s have made it possible for live venues to squeeze performers until there is little money being paid to independent artists.

One question might be how to best utilize the social networks to get one’s music into the ears of the public. Outlets such as Broadjam present digital venues whereby we can display and distribute our ware. But, we need to bring traffic to the table to increase our odds of making a sale or winning a contest. B’Jam can’t do it all by itself, we need to think in terms of networking.

Okay, my coffee is getting cold. Who’s next?

Broadjam Launches RSS Feed on Music Licensing Opportunities

In a time when information must be fast to be relevant, RSS feeds serve as a valuable tool for web users. Broadjam’s recently added RSS feed for music licensing opportunities allows users to subscribe and receive updates about new opportunities almost immediately as they become available. This particular RSS feed is useful whether you are a blogger and you want to draw traffic to your own site, or if you use an RSS reader and want to keep up to date on the new licensing opportunities that Broadjam has to offer. The new RSS feed for music licensing opportunities gives users the ability to get the information they want when they want it. Simply click on the “subscribe to RSS feed” button on the music licensing page seen below:

rss-licensing2

RSS feeds (or Really Simple Syndication) are a family of web feed formats used by websites to automatically publish new content. This is especially important for sites such as blogs, which authors may update quite regularly without having any means of letting readers know about the new content. Adding an RSS feed to their blog will allow those who subscribe to it to receive an automatic update of the blogger’s post after it is published.

RSS feeds can be used by website operators to draw traffic by offering expanded content, or by readers who want to use an RSS Reader (NetVibes, etc.) to aggregate up-to-date information from a variety of different sources. To learn more about RSS feeds in general, see the full Wikipedia article here. Be sure to check out the newly-added feed on our music licensing page to keep up to date on the many opportunities available to Broadjam members!

The path of Peter Olach

Peter G. Olach is a product of the 1970’s Detroit folk scene who now lives in North Carolina. His songs are meaningful, story-driven, and incorporate elements of Country/Western, Southern Rock and Traditional folk music. Peter plays the guitar in a fashion that he deems reminiscent of mountain dulcimers, saying “I just happen to have more strings and frets than my mountain brethren do.”

Olach has been playing music for over 30 years, and has created a sound that is all his own. His love of music continues to drive him to create new music for the world to hear. Of his path, Olach says “My journey has brought me full circle and back to a place that I find so rewarding, the place where my heart belongs – the creation and performance of MUSIC.”

And yes… award winning says something… but he’s not above proving his worth to the guy that has never heard of him, but on the other hand, might be willing to hire him.

  • Protilius's comment is:

Mastering is an art form… much like artist… Its all about finding a feel that you can relate to.

Some people like it light… others want that white noise blasting they’re tracks into ultimate loudness.

I’d be interested in some links to before and afterwards links to preview the work.

    Sell me…

Show me how this distinguished engineer is better than my “fresh outa the gates” skill set.

Otherwise… I’ll offer the same service for $90.

    (smiles playfully…)

    lol…

kidding… but referenced examples would be nice.

Updates to Profile Menu

Broadjam has made some updates to the member profile menu. To make your edits and updates easier, we’ve moved the profile menu from the lower left-hand navigation of your profile page to a “floating” menu style at the bottom of the page. We’re hopeful that this will not only make accessing the many options for your profile easier, but also more intuitive and fast.

Please note: if you’re using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 browser, or anything previous to it, this improved menu will not appear and your profile page will default to the old menu style. A newer version of Internet Explorer is available here.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us at customerservice@broadjam.com.
