These days, there seems to be a lot going on in the world – politically, environmentally, socially, etc. We don’t think that anyone does a better job capturing the state of things than musicians.

Try living and stop being a chicken #&%$! The sky is not falling! Doing anything constructive can be contagious. That is how movements and, for lack of a better word, revolutions are started.
BTW : I think amatuers are the best songwriters because they tend to be more artistic 9from the heart and true) where as professionals tend to use formulas and become more predictable. A middle groud or collaboration between the two is the best in my humble opinion. As a producer, I tend to work well with amatuers and find their material much more malleable than the so called pro.
