We’re considering having an outdoor music festival this summer and we’d like your input. We’d like to make the Broadjam Music Festival an annual event and for our first year it would feature Broadjam acoustic artists from different genres. The event would likely be held outdoors in a rural setting, near a scenic town in southern Wisconsin, about two hours north of Chicago. We would love to hear your thoughts about this possible event.
Your feedback on any or all of the following questions will help us get started on planning a Broadjam Music Festival.
· Is this an event you would be interested in attending?
· If the festival was more than one day, would you be interested in camping on the festival grounds, staying in a hotel, or would you be likely to attend just one day?
· What types of other activities, besides live performances, would you like to see at the festival?
· Would you be interested in selling your merchandise and CDs at the festival?
· For a one-day festival, what is a fair price for us to charge for a ticket (not including travel, lodging etc.)?
· For a two-day festival, what is a fair price for us to charge for a ticket (not including travel, lodging etc.)?
· Would you be interested in performing for fair compensation?
· What genres should we focus on for the first year? Would you only attend if certain genres of music are featured?
Or, if you want to offer input on any other aspect of a potential music festival, please feel free to do so - we’re all ears.
As always, you can contact me directly if you wish to discuss this or any other Broadjam/music topics.
Thanks,
Roy
I really appreciate the great service provided by your site. Gotten better feedback on my tunes here than from Taxi. Currently have a number one regional. Do the Taxi folks pay any attention to those? We would probably like to participate in a festival, depending where, but not this summer…too many things going on. In the meantime, we will keep updating material and adding new stuff. About fifteen new ones to get up on the site in the near future. Just keep rocking y’all…love the service and have heard some killer material among some not so killer stuff. Some really talented writers out there.
If folks need collaboration…check our site. http://www.gatorlegs.com

Thanks for everyone for your thoughts. We are continuing to explore this idea and your input is greatly appreciated.

Hi Roy!
What a GREAT idea! An Annual Broadjam Music Festival is another terrific way we can promote! I am thrilled that you are as inventive and creative as you are, you are helping thousands of us musicians in ways we can’t even imagine!
I personally think a 1 or 2 day event would be the best. Most folks probably would want to stay in hotels/motels if they are going to be at both days, BUT some of us don’t have the money to afford that so camping would be a good option too.
I also think it would be great if the artists could have tables/booths set up to sell their cds, t-shirts, gear, etc… The Artists could also perform at their station/table/booth periodically throughout the day.
You could have the better bands performing on a live stage maybe?
Great ideas! Keep em coming!
