Musically described by fans as sounding like, "The Red Hot Chili Peppers beating the crap out of the Dave Matthews Band, while The Blues Traveler watched." Woodfish's mixture of rock, funk, pop and jamband keeps their sound mainstream and familar yet still interesting and different from every other band out there today.

Woodfish Bio

Creating an intoxicating musical style by combining elements of rock, progressive, jamband and funk music together with an explosively energetic stage show, the band Woodfish only plays music that they love. Whether it's 3 people or 30,000 people, Woodfish is doing it for the right reasons." Staying true to the spirit of rock and roll, and knowing no limitations, Woodfish brings charisma and passion to every performance. The band formed progressively sometime in early 2001 as the result of brothers Steve (bass) and Dominic Kalorin (drums) playing the local jam nights in New Jersey. Starting from the beginning Woodfish started stretching the boundaries of what it meant to be a local indie band by being one of the rare, perhaps only, all original act to play paid performances and satisfy crowds in venues where normally only cover bands could perform. This unexpected satisfying outcome from one of the bands earlier performances fueled the passion and desire to keep the band going forward. Woodfish soon realized that by taking their fresh new intense jamming like sound and applying it to both traditional and cutting edge songwriting arrangement styles, they could write songs that people can relate to and maybe find inspiration in. Also though this they discovered that there music appealed to a wide range of people from young kids to older adults.
The band is not about playing or writing songs that all sound alike. Woodfish embraces the fact that people usually like more than one style of music. The band finds its identity by embracing its interest in multiple genres but still keeping each member's individual influences in mind.

Woodfish has performed along side acts such as Foghat, Keller Williams, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, The Spin Doctors' Chris Barron, Particle, Oteil & The Peacemakers (From the Allman Brothers), Will Hoge, deSol, Devon Allman's Honeytribe and more.
