Waving at Strangers, after forming in May, 2003, quickly forged a unique, and powerfully upbeat indie/emo rock sound, driven by modern and classic influences such as Weezer, Yellowcard, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Slick Shoes, Blink182, and the Smashing Pumpkins.

In January of 2004, the band purchased an RV and relocated to the L.A. area with a desire to immerse themselves into the west-coast scene. They've recently returned for a few short months to the Southeast to record a 7 song demo/EP (Aimeeland) with BMG producer/songwriter Justin Weaver, and will be on tour up the east coast and then back out to L.A. in mid August of 2004. They are currently shopping their new demo to major and indie record labels.

Bio

The four members of Waving at Strangers, Clay, Brian, Jason and Clint, unknowingly went to the same high school, each one year apart. Five years later, Jason was finishing his BA in philosophy at UGA, Clay was finishing a degree in History at West Georgia, Brian was residing in Los Angeles doing “extra work," and Clint in Salt Lake City, fixing windows. Somehow, word got around, and a band was formed. Brian flew home with a book of songs, which would comprise most of Waving at Strangers first album. Two months later, Clint drove in from Salt Lake City. Nearing the end of May 2003, the band had their first practice in Atlanta, GA. Waving at Strangers quickly forged a unique, and powerfully upbeat pop rock sound, driven by modern and classic influences such as Weezer, Yellowcard, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Slick Shoes, Blink182, and the Smashing Pumpkins.

Within five months, Waving at Strangers had opened for a plethora of national acts, including: Missing Persons, A Flock of Seagulls (The Masquerade, Atlanta, GA), Less than Jake, Saves the Day, Hot Hot Heat, Left Front Tire (99x Upstart Fest, Atlanta, GA), Cool Hand Luke, Ace Trouble Shooter, 7-10 Split, Norma Jean, Pacifico (Fall Quest 2003, Carrolton, GA), and Vaux (The End, Nashville, TN). They played regionally in the south-east, buildi
