TWIG.........www.twigmusic.com
Front person Mindy Nilson’s dynamic vocal style ranges from sweet jazz to soulful rock. Her voice characterizes and complements the modernistic, melodic music created by the rest of the band: Robert Heafey - edgy guitar chords and sounds, Marcus Weeden grooving, driving bass lines, and Jim Zick-pocket style, for the
mood drums, loops.
The story of TWIG started in Phoenix, Az., May of ‘96, where Mindy had been looking to start a new music project. She knew Jim from the music scene where he had been working as a sound engineer and drummer, and wanted to create a band with a unique rock sound. Jim called Robert, longtime band mate of 6 years, and from the first session, the three established a song writing chemistry that brought out new music ideas from each of them. With the addition of Marcus a few months later, TWIG became one of Phoenix’s most popular bands and appeared with such
national acts as Third Eye Blind, Cowboy Mouth, The Refreshments, The Fixx, and Buck-O-Nine among many others. As they were establishing themselves in Phoenix, they were also receiving national exposure. Two of TWIG’s songs were featured on the soundtrack of the movie, and Sundance Film Festival entrant, “Starved”. Internet music station, Fast Band Global Cast, has TWIG’s song, “Crazy”, on their global listeningrotation and conducted a “live” world-wide interview with the band. TWIG’s debut CD, “Reservations”, is now available at all of Twig's shows and
