Years of experience in the music business have brought the members of Truth For Leo together to form Austin’s newest, most exciting acoustic-rock band. The band has combined the essential elements - catchy melodies, a dark mystique and an exhilarating live show - of today’s and yesterday’s greatest bands to form a sound that Trent Brough, singer and guitarist, said is needed in the Central Texas area. In the meantime, they have opened for national acts such as Dishwalla, Edgewater, Dan Dyer, Pushmonkey and Vallejo. “So far, we’ve had an amazing run with this band,” said Brough. “We took everything we’ve learned from our experiences in former bands, and have used that to make Truth For Leo something that I think will have a positive impact on us and our fans."

Truth For Leo - mini Bio

Years of experience in the music business have brought the members of Truth For Leo together to form Austin’s newest, most exciting acoustic-rock band. The band has combined the essential elements - catchy melodies, a dark mystique and an exhilarating live show - of today’s and yesterday’s greatest bands to form a sound that Trent Brough, singer and guitarist, said is needed in the Central Texas area. “Our intent is to take the strongest characteristics of the bands we love, the things that make them great, and combine all of that into our band.” Brough said. “I think doing that, along with adding some new ideas, has made us stand out among a lot of Austin bands, and will allow us to go even further.” Brough, Ryan Coggin (guitar) and Buck Lisles (bass), all three former members of Austin rock band Mantic, combined in early 2004 with Matt Adrian (guitar) and Michael Kelton (drums) to form Truth For Leo. Kelton, an Austin native whose father plays bass for texas legends Johnny Dee & The Rocket 88's, said he expects Truth For Leo's high-energy live performances to make a mark on the Texas music scene. “When we get together on stage, we can’t be stopped,” Kelton said. “We’ve put together a great band with a great live show and album that will hopefully fill a void that’s missing among the hundreds of bands in the area.” The band has spent time in both Nashville and Austin writing and recording songs for their debut full-length independent release. In the meantime, they have opened for national acts such as Dishwalla, Edgewater, Dan Dyer, Pushmonkey, as well as regional tours with Vallejo and other up and coming artists. “So far, we’ve had an amazing run with this band,” said Brough. “We took everything we’ve learned from our experiences in former bands, and have used that to make Truth For Leo something that I think will have a positive impact on us and our fans."
