The Taters play an eclectic mix of roots-rock, pop, country, and
Americana, a sound that's been compared favorably to a mixture of
Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, The Beatles, the Mavericks, and Nick Lowe.
Billboard magazine calls it "American roots-rock with thoroughly modern,
totally hip sensibilities". No Depression magazine describes it like
this: "Think 'Beatles For Sale' if Marty Robbins were a primary influence
instead of Carl Perkins."

"Think Beatles For Sale if Marty Robbins were a primary influence instead of Carl Perkins… Craig Evans' crystalline tenor deserves to be mentioned alongside Raul Malo & Chris Issak as a worthy heir to Orbison's legacy." - No Depression

Bio

With STRANGE BUT TRUE, their latest release on Planetary Records, Burnt Taters continue to explore and expand their collective musical palette. The new release adds to the mix with styles drawn from the Mills Brothers, John Sebastian, the Eagles, The Mavericks, some calypso, and a dash of western swing. When you hear the final product, though, you realize you're not listening to another retro band, but something new - a fresh mix. You'll recognize a lot of the individual flavors, but you've never tasted this combination before.

All three Taters bring their own style to the plate. "Craig Evans' tight-and-right bass lines are as simple or complex as any given song demands, a
