THE REAL McCoy
James McCoy (born January 12, 1980) better known by his stage name "The Real McCoy", is truly an emcee that is persevering through the storm to acquire his goal. He created a buzz for himself by releasing one E.P. and two Mix-tapes- ("The Real McCoy Do-Over's vol1") and ("The game is sour vol2") along with the self name titled E.P. ("The Real McCoy"). In 2003 his buzz grew stronger in NYC do to his heavy promo rotation on Hot97's morning show "Reality radio" hosted by Sway from (MTV). Driving him to hit the road and push his product in regions such as (Philly, Atlanta, Buffalo, Rochester NY and Canada) where he was embraced by Local commercial and college radio stations. Once told by wyclef that he is a threat and when the gates open up no one will be able to stop his reign. Giving it his all is what he knows best do to him once losing his life during an oral surgery when his lungs collapse in August of 1998 then almost loses his freedom and life during a drug sting where undercover agents disburse shots with the intention to kill him detouring him from his plans of trying to hustle up an adequate amount of money to get his own label and career started off the ground. His experiences, ambition and wisdom allow him to reach the masses by how choices in life can make you or break you. Most would have giving up in the face of adversity but not ("McCoy") he inhales it all until the day Gabriel blows his trumpet.
He started his trek rhyming on the streets for hustlers of all sorts astonish by his gift of expressing his self well at an early age in the late 80's. Entering "Crazy Sam's Video music box talent search" in the winter of 95' hosted by DJ S&S who seen his potential and told the crowd ("Shorty is going to be a problem") which ignited the crowd outburst even more. He knew from that moment on there were too many signs to ignore and took his passion more serious despite any stumbling block or set back. Now in the process on working on his debut album "THE EQUILIBRIUM", McCoy is definitely ready to give his fans and the rest of the world what they been waiting for, the balance between good music and life experiences.
