The pHormula is three emcees AlpHamatic, ExaminE and pHilosophy combined with DJ pHonics, The Sound Scientist, that create a style of Hip-Hop which is catchy but not commercial. The pHormula is known for their high-energy performances and original hard hitting beats known to make fans clap their hands and stomp their feet. The pHormula’s music always has the PERFECT pH Balance of that vibe that might make you cry or might make you fight. Basically they try to give to the fans just like life.

All three emcees attended the same high school while growing up and pHilosophy and ExaminE are brothers. Now they rock stages, write rhymes, and drop clever lyrics on the beats that DJ Phonics produces. This four-man team has a flawless, hi-energy performance that brings the audience to life and gets everyone involved. The three emcees interact naturally with one other on stage; while DJ pHonics provides the sc-sc-scratches that truly accentuate the pHormula’s raw underground style.

Press Quotes:
“For fans of Pharcyde, The pHormula is one of the best hip-hop picks all around. Thick, heavyweight hip-hop that's always about the groove, these guys are turning heads all over the place. Hailing from hip Eugene, Oregon they wrap up the boom of the city with the chilled out, kicked back chill of a progressive college town. Wrapping in soul, jazz and lounge, every track is killer.” (CDBABY.COM- Portland, OR.)

ExaminE's Bio

Examine’s 1st solo album drops on June 1st 2006 and is entitled “Smelling Salts” signifying Examine’s transition from a dormant state of studying the philosophies of life and the many different styles of hip-hop to an active, animate, artist. The one and only “Smelling Salts” awoke Aaron J. Martin and the now there is Examine; an emcee who is always on the hungry hunt for a crowd hungry for hip-hop. Combined with that inpHamous underground crew that goes by the name of “The pHormula” the “Smelling Salts” wakes pHans up TO the NEW pHat, pHresh, but pHunky style that can make mimes crack a smile and goes back longer than the history of the crocodile, so seems out of this world like it’s from the X-Files, but rest assur you’ll adjust, just hit the dial.

Examine, a.k.a. the LineMan, a.k.a. Johnny Crumb Snatcher, is known around the crew as “Exam the man with the plan”. Examine is not only an emcee, but is also a producer and a graphic designer. He’s like the secret weapon of the pHormula. He’s always EXAMining, YOU KNOW, scoping shit out and analyzing those little details most people overlook CUZ he’s always putting in work down in the trenches scheming up another plan to snatch your last crumb! Examine is characterized by a unique conversion of sharply blunt intelligent lyrics that get straight to the point while still relaxing enough to tell y’all to quit stressing and just blaze a joint.

Examine was born as Aaron J. Martin on June 16th, 1984 approximately at high noon in the huge city of Casper, Wyoming (Sarcasm Level: High). On the real though Examine is straight out the wood works of Wyoming, raised on welfare next to the trailer parks of North Casper where you can hear a whiskey-sour speech still, telling you to lie cheat and steal. Examine made out the bucket of crabs in the middle mapped cracks of rap with a full ride scholarship to attend the University of Oregon, where he earned his bachelor’s in philosophy. Since the world’s in a state of emergence, I’ve got mad urgency. So, gotta get back to another track……..CHECK OUT THE pHormula’s NEW ALBUM “ WHAT THE FU@*!?” in June!!!!!!!!
