Been there, seen it, done it and damn it still doing it !
The Lounge Suits, formed in 2005, are a bunch of five lads the wrong side of thirty who should probably know better to still be in the music industry now !
Let’s face it……..they ain’t the next Boyzone !
hat doesn’t stop them persuing their unique approach to
writing well-crafted, hooky, melodic Indie/rock songs.
Influenced by the best of rock, new wave and punk, the band have also
been compared to Keane, The Killers, Muse and Coldplay.
The band are in the final stages of completing their first album which they plan to release early 2007 and are also rehearsing to take the ‘The Lounge Suits’ experience out on the road very soon.
The band are travelling to L.A . in November 2006 to attend one of the largest Independent A&R conventions in the world with a view getting signed, making bags of cash and buying their own dormant volcano
in the south pacific…….maybe even some new strings for Chris’ bass!

'Stream'

‘Stream’ by STREAM
de Souza/Arnott

Verse 1
Take a photograph, trap it on a mantelpiece
Watch the dust collecting on the faces you can see
I can hear the city breathing through the furniture and walls
And the dirt beneath my fingernails……..it’s no comfort at all.

Chorus
Because these are the pieces that make up the pictures
That run like a movie and play in my head
All the random distractions and T.V. reminders
And camera flashes that lead me to you.

Verse 2
Pinned to the mattress sleeping and waking
The sound of a scream and the windshield breaking
Lemon in the paper-cut that’s just behind my eyes
Labouring the obvious but did you realise……..…it’s no comfort at all.

Chorus

Middle 8
Choose a recipe, a dictionary definition
Pick a shutter-speed to capture what you see
Lock the box away a tribute to a young Houdini
But the Great escape is never what it seems

Verse 2
I’m drowning in something I do not understand and
This waiting for something is something I can’t stand but
Tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll start my life tomorrow
If I can tell myself there’s nothing to be scared about

Breakdown
Scanning the ashtray, reading the tealeaves
Searching my palm for a sign of relief
Watching the skies as I toy with religion
Questioning who could be toying with me.

Every time I beat my wings, every time I close my eyes
Life is full of bigger things than both of us can realise
Any question brings a question, every question bothers me
I can see the same tomorrow stretching out in front of me.

Chorus to fade

'Beautiful Secret Things'

‘Beautiful Secret Things’ by STREAM
de Souza/Arnott/Rance

Verse 1
Midnight, each night she is up as usual
Smoking in the garden with the moonlight
Like a spotlight………she is alabaster
Spinning like an angel on a pin.
And the devil knows life won’t get much better than this.

Chorus
And she comes and she goes
And she twists in the smoke like a beautiful ghost
And she speaks to the wind
And she whispers those words about beautiful secret things

Verse 2
Sleep who needs sleep?
When her perfect silhouette can make the heavens spin around me
And every breath she’s taking in and every breath is such a beautiful thing
And in and out, and in and out it’s the only sound I hear

Chorus

Middle 8
One word is all it takes to save my life from my mistakes
I wish I were…….I wish I could see
All of the secret…..beautiful secret things

Solo

Breakdown
Betrayed by gravity……….science is failing me
All of these things I see are just illusions…..sweet illusions

Repeat to fade

'In My Own Way'

‘In My Own Way by STREAM
de Souza/Arnott

Verse 1
Cross your pretty fingers if it makes you feel better
Sooner or later this things gonna get you
Standing on a precipice, I think I’ll write a letter
From me to you…….from me to you.

Chorus
This don’t make no sense to me
Make-up running down my cheek

Verse 2
Lying in a coma in the back of the car
Squeezing out the meaning from a million stars
Standing on a precipice, measuring how far it is
From me to you………from me to you.

Chorus
This don’t make no sense to me
Make-up running down my cheek

Middle 8
Feel the tension in the sky… my love
As I fight the need to fly….to you

Verse 3
Drive a little closer to the car in front
Jump in with the stereo and the pills I’ve swallowed
Standing on a precipice, afraid to jump
From me to you…….from me to you.

Chorus
This don’t make no sense to me
(I love you in my own way)
Make-up running down my cheek
(I love you in my own way)
This don’t make no sense to me
(I love you in my own way)
Make-up running down my cheek
(I love you in my own way)
This don’t make no sense to me
(I love you in my own way)

The Lounge Suits are :-

Martin clarke - keyboards, backing vocals and bitch whining. He aspires one day to become the band’s roadie as he seems to make more money than the band !

Mike de Souza - guitar and backing vocals. Despite owning over a thousand effects pedals, Mike’s guitar tone has been liked to that of a mobile phone being flushed down a toilet.

Rupe Rance - drums. Rupe hold the Hampshire record for eating the most hard boiled eggs within 10 minutes…….with the shells still on.

Chris - bass. Chris has been a life long Michael Jackson fan and helps the other band members with their ‘male grooming’ issues. Chris enjoys attempting the moon walk while playing his bass.

Eric Starr - vocals. Blessed with tonsils alleged to be pure gold, Eric has been known to consume enough Guinness to kill an African bull elephant.
