There's something character-tastic about Davids voice I'm diggin' on that I haven't heard since listening to Joey Ramone. There's a story-teller aspect to this song which will attract listeners to follow along like a book. I think many could relate to "What You Wanted" so you're already one step ahead of the pack. I wish the guy would win this situation...haha.
Music Connection Los Angeles November 2003
Any band that calls itself the Quirks and features a guy with a dunce cap on his head has the dubious job of living up to its title. The song, Miss Angeles, comes off like a pseudo-mixture of the Clash, Devo and Weezer. The breakup song, What You Wanted, has melodic vocal blends that work well to soften the garage-band edge and give it a Smash Mouth vibe. What Did You Just Call Me, suggest the Quirks would really rather be the Kinks.

Bio
Explosive. Animated. Original. The Quirks have been serving up their high energy brand of So Cal Pop Rock since 2001. Drawing of their influences of acts such as the Ramones, Screeching Weasel, and Weezer, The Quirks found their nitch delivering catchy hooks with their clever, off the cuff live act. All of which is evident in their latest CD release, "Amnesia is a Drag", including the smart and funny "What you Wanted" and the tounge-in-cheek anthem "Miss Angeles".
