We are Synoptic, a 5 man alternative rock band with vocals, guitar, keyboard, bass, drums and DJ. All of us are in school and range from 17 to 21. Over the past 3 years, we have played local venues in the Phoenix area including: Marquee Theater, Hard Rock Café, Alice Cooper’stown, The Clubhouse and Big Fish Pub. Our musical influences include: Incubus, Rush, The Who, The Doors, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Paul Gilbert and George Gershwin. Our goal is to make original music that reaches people through heavy hitting guitar riffs to jazzy organ melodies interwoven with harmonious vocals.

We released our second album "This Is What I'm Saying!!" on Jan 1, 2005. Our previous demo albums were distributed at our shows and offered free from our website. We have sent demos all over the country to fans from Oregon to New York, even to Hawaii and Africa. Our songs are available on our website for real time listening and downloading.

Bio

The History of Synoptic

So you might be asking yourself what is a synoptic. Synoptic is not really a tangible thing, it is the idea of unity of thought, or a general view of a whole. So synoptic music is music that encompasses many different themes and varieties but combines them in a way that produces a sum greater than each individual piece on its own. How about that!

So how did Synoptic, the band I know and love, get their name. Well in accordance with prophecy only one synoptic band can exist at any given time. The groundwork for synoptic started out west when Trey DeCamp and Josh Weinstein were undergoing rudimentary training in the ways of the world. Trey and Josh preformed many great feats in the early years and always knew they would have a powerful future in store. While thumbing through a dictionary, as he often does, DeCamp found Webster’s definition of Synoptic and knew that it represented what he stood for. As time progressed others rallied their cause, Chris "Eon" McAdams joined the band in hopes to add a new dimension to the music that may be able to help pay off his bookies. Elwood Riot found himself in a position to rant on stage in front of a captive audience, where previously people walked away from him. When the stars lined up one fateful night, Paul Hanson, stepped up to fill the shoes of the previous bass player and Synoptic was complete
