As young as 4 years old, memories of innocently singing her nursery rhymes as her father stood by, recording every last note. A singer himself, Larry Fedrick contributed his beautiful voice to a quartet as a child and, later, the church choir. He never actively pursued a career in gospel music, but would go on to influence that of his musically inclined family, especially his young daughter, Sylvia. While pursuing her next big break, Sylvia became side-tracked by a suitor and was married in 1991. In 1997, Sylvia's marriage ended in divorce and she was again on the music scene.
After much prayer & faith, Sylvia released her Freshman CD "Sistha Under God's Construction" which has gained a sizable amount of recognition since its release in August 2008 and landed her "The Black Essence Award" in 2010, in the 2012 Sylvia received theChicago Gospel Jubilee Award for "Gospel's Music Rising Star". Sylvia is a Radio Personality for "The Sylvia Fedrick Gospel Show" on Global News Forum Sundays 12Noon-2pm, and the Visionary/Founder of the annual Fed Up Productions Hat & Glove Inspiration Breakfast, which was establish in 2009.
Sylvia's musical influences include Minnie Riperton, Deniece Williams, Stephanie Mills, Patrice Rushen, The Emotions and Tramaine Hawkins.
