Supermack is a five piece collective from Washington DC, that churns out a fusion of heavy guitars, driving rhythms, layered composition and smooth lyrical flows, punctuated by emotion and a quirky sense of humor. While Supermack’s music fits into the popular Rap/Rock genre, it’s influences of funk and jazz give flavors of maturity and complication that set them apart from other similar bands.

Songs from Supermack’s new CD ‘Shafted’ have started getting airplay on DC-area radio stations such as DC101 and Baltimore’s 98 Rock. The ‘macks will be appear on several compilations, including Riffage.com’s Music for Your Head, released nationally. Recently, the band was asked to contribute to the soundtracks of an upcoming video game, an extreme sports television show, and an independent film.Taking advantage of the internet for promotion of their music, Supermack has consistently charted well on the web. On the most popular music site, MP3.com, Supermack songs held places in the top 40 of the Rapcore category for most of 2000, with no less than two having been in the top ten for six months straight. On July 27th 2001, Supermack held the #2 and #3 and #5 spots on the Mp3.com Metal/Rapcore catagory Charts, just below Papa Roach at #1 and above such national and regional acts as Taproot, Project 86, UXB, Sev, Nullset and SPiNE. Supermack’s hit ‘420’ from their first demo remained in the top 20 of the overall Rap category on the site for three months, along side artists such as Ice T and Q-tip. In MP3.com’s RapCore category, Supermack held the number one spot for over a month. The WashingtonPost.com recently opened its MP3 section (http://mp3.washingtonpost.com) and Supermack’s new single ‘Maneuver’ debuted at #4, with over 500 downloads in one week.
