2012 began BIG with Stupid Genius (in association with Jay Fresko, South Coast Records, & InDigi Music) placing a track in the Universal Pictures film, "Contraband." Composition work continues in the Television industry on multiple shows (including Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Access Hollywood, among others) bringing his credits to over 400 placements to date. SG is currently writing and producing tracks for major record labels, in addition to the South Coast Records roster. In addition to the recent release of his debut LP "Stupid is as Stupid Does," SG has expanded into creating producer sound sets/construction kits, releasing one product through Big Fish Audio, and another through P5 Audio. Stupid Genius (whose real name is Matt Nawada) composes explosive rhythm driven music used in several hundred episodes of 150+ Television series, aired on more than 50 TV stations and networks across. Recognized as a notable music producer as well, his credits range from crafting tracks for Treach of legendary Hip-hop group "Naughty by Nature" to producing a track featured featured in Universal Pictures' 2012 release "Contraband" (starring Mark Wahlberg), "Only Time," performed by Jay Fresko, label-mate on hometown Orlando-based South Coast Records. His music is featured on many popular Television series, including "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" (including "Kourtney & Kim take New York," "Kourtney & Khloe take Miami," and "Khloe & Lamar), "Tosh.0" and "Dr. 90210" on E!, "Basketball Wives" and "Love and Hip Hop" on VH1, "Cities of the Underworld" on The History Channel, MTV's "Cribs," "Guy Code," "Catfish," "Real World Road Rules Challenge," and "Bully Beatdown" (to name a few) on MTV, and a variety of sports, news, and entertainment shows such as "Access Hollywood," "E! A 'Stupid Genius' production creates a dynamic soundscape of dramatic tension by fusing vivid eclectic sounds with modern urban bass-heavy impact and organic world rhythms, and have proven to be highly in-demand within the format of today's reality-TV based industry as well as Urban and EDM recording artists.
Stupid Genius scored two self-produced documentaries on world renowned folk artists Mr. Imagination and Howard Finster, and was commissioned by his Alma Mater's (Lehigh University) art gallery for the video installation in the latter's memoriam exhibit. While earning a bachelor's degree from Lehigh, he was co-host and DJ for on-campus radio station WLVR 91.3 FM, and currently thrives as a DJ.
