Allow myself to introduce...myself. I am a songwriter influenced by Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Steeley Dan, Bob Marley, Earth Wind and Fire and the Jackson 5 and many, many others.

What I write is meant to elevate humanity to higher realms in a contemporary jazz, pop fashion. Creating lasting standards to test time is my goal. The feedback from talent is that lyrically and melodically my work is rich and appeals to the body, heart and mind of the listener.

Commonly my songs are love songs. The music is born when I find an area of my life where I am suffering in some way or longing for something. Somewhere the songs protagonist is keeping him/herself small. Invariably I use my own experience for this. Inside all of my work is a degree of transformation, growth, newness and life - a novel way of seeing things.

Biography

David Baumgarten is the songwriter/producer, not the singer/performer of his own works.

He started out writing music for television in Turkey in 1989 when they were getting sued for copyright infringement and trying to get into the EU.

After having had cancer, a near drowning, near fatal motorcycle accident, living in four countries and traveling to nearly 50 countries, David settled in Atlanta, GA where he is now president of a multi-million dollar firm.

Two non-profits which raised funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society were his doing. Concert2Cure, a two day concert with 25 bands like Arrested Development and other Georgia bands, and Riding to the Moon, a motorcycle event in which he and four others rode 14,000 hard miles to the bottom of Argentina. Both events secured donations of approximately $400,000.
