Raised on the North Shore of Oahu, now living in Brooklyn. NY., Shawn is a Producer/Engineer/Songwriter/musician who
spends most of his time in his studio Witchdoctor Recording helping musicians find their own sound. His productions,
engineering and songwriting weave through many styles of music, being sure to never take sides as to what is his favorite.

Bio

Raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Shawn began surfing and playing piano at the age of 4. By the time he was 8 he was competing nationally and was ranked as one of the top 10 classical pianist for his age in the US. Upon entering high school, he left classical music for the positive vibes of the reggae scene. He then started the band Dread Ashanti with Bryce Myers, friend and drummer, ended up on gigs with Yellowman, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru and Shaggy to name a few. In 92', Shawn moved to Boston, MA. to study at Berklee College of Music, leaving with 2 majors in Music Production and Engineering, and Songwriting and a minor in Filmscoring. Shawn then moved to San Francisco, CA. where he worked at The Plant in Sausalito as a house engineer/tech. Artist that he worked with there during his time were the Dave Matthews Band and Metallica. He also worked for Sonicnet/Addicted to Noise as an audio consultant for Veteran Rolling Stones editor Michael Goldberg. Never satisfied he also took a job with Narada Michael Walden at Tarpan studios as a second engineer. Shawn eventually left the Bay area to head home to Hawaii where he worked for TKDisc studios in Honolulu, HI. After working on the last Namie Amuro Album, he decided that was not a good fit, so he moved back to the East Coast. Back in Boston, Shawn opened Witchdoctor Recording in Salem, MA. After a four year stay there, Shawn relocated his studio and career to Brooklyn, NY. where he plans to stay awhile.
