It all began three years ago when John and Shawn
first got together and began to forge what would become
Shadow Screamers. Originally the two musicians began this
band as an alternative drum and guitar duo under a variety
of names. The sound, a mixture of classic rock, alternative, and blues, was something new and exciting that they believed could give them the edge they needed. Add to that the concept of two guys producing a sound that for all intents and purposes sounded like a whole band, made quite an impression on their early fans.
Making a bold effort to try this out on a South Florida
scene not known for its abundance of original rock music, they
set forth attempting to bring their unique sound to a broad audience. Playing everything from festivals, to local bars and pubs to organizing
and participating in a large-scale benefit, they played anywhere and everywhere. Their stage energy and live show was unparalleled and
facing what seemed an insurmountable obstacle of managing a family life and promoting and booking themselves in one of the hardest music scenes in the country, they achieved a modicum
of success.
But as time progressed they began to use their music to help others in their community quickly aligning themselves with local organizations and community groups.
