Hi! I'm Samir (or 'Sam' for short) and I'm excited to be able to give you a taste of some of the music I've composed and uploaded on this website. I'm an independent musician who over the years found myself fascinated with film composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Hans Gregson- Williams, among other great musicians.

I bought my first Yamaha keyboard, the 'PSR-70', back in the 1980's and began reproducing film music by simply listening and attempting to reproduce the different instruments and styles. Eventually, I produced my first multi-track song disk for a Yamaha 6700 club containing various movie soundtracks among some of my own compositions which began selling to club members. Eventually, the club started receiving requests from members to buy more song disks.

Background

Samir is a talented composer whose musical ability was very apparent since the early age of five when he started playing the piano. He graduated from City university, London in 1995 with an honours degree in Business Computing Systems.

During his 19 years in London, Samir received private piano lessons and was eventually awarded grade 8 with distinction by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2000. His ability to play music by ear became obvious as he began reproducing soundtracks for movies such as 'Rain Man', 'Back to the Future', 'Star Wars', 'Top Gun', etc., in addition to many other musical styles, both Western and oriental.

His recent accomplishments include composing music for the New Testament to accompany dramatised readings in addition to Old Testament books like the Psalms and Proverbs. You may also like to know that Samir's compositions are completely improvisational with no scoring involved!

Samir is married to Dara and they reside in Amman, Jordan.
