Ryan David Biography

My name is Ryan David. I am a musician from Sydney, Australia. I have lived in Los Angeles CA since November 2003. I play multiple instruments. Primarily I am a vocalist and guitarist, but I also play bass, piano and drums. I formed a band called MELOTIA in 2004. Melotia has released two CDs, has toured the US extensively and remains my primary focus. Melotia CDs are available for purchase at store.melotia.com. In 2001 I released my first solo album in Australia and recorded a demo of what was to be the second solo album. A strange turn of events resulted in my moving to Los Angeles where I formed Melotia with Clark Skelton and John Maryanski. The solo thing has effectively been on hold since then. Over the past seven years I have written over a hundred songs that have never been recorded. For want of a better word these songs could be considered of the more "mellow" variety. In 2009 I'm planning to collect the best of the material and record an album - one song at a time. I will be uploading each song to this website for FREE download as they are completed. Aside from music I also do a lot of writing (as in literature). I have always planned to publish books but have had difficulty finding the time to do it. I'm in the process of editing my first book The Train Chronicles. The book is a journal of my life from 2001 to 2004. Check out the books page for more info on that. I've also recently established a Record Label / Book Company called Viral Notes. The main purpose of Viral Notes is to release my own music and books. Due to my intense schedule I am not planning on putting anyone else's work out initially. However, I would like to release work by other musicians and writers in the future and help good art get some exposure. I think that's all for the short version... Feel to brave the long version if you feel like knowing more!
