RJ Shapiro

RJ Shapiro is the well known, Boston-based singer/songwriter/musicologist /archivist

(Note: by Archivist, we mean that RJ has a stupidly large record/CD collection of every kind of music imaginable. By Musicologist, we mean that he is happy to pontificate and lecture at ridiculous lengths on any and all of this music)

RJ has performed with many, many bands: In the 80s, he was the chief songwriter, guitarist and lead singer with the late, lamented KEEPER, which got a lot of radio play in New England, and played at all the Boston area hot spots of the era (The Rat, The Channel, Jacks, InnSquare, etc) In the 90s, RJ led the famously fun DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB, a terrific, hard-working 60s cover band.

Now, in the new century, RJ has formed RJ and The Imperatives, a group of rock and roll pros from the greater Boston area, who have been playing together in various combinations, for 20 yeasrs. They came together 3 years ago to work on the songs of RJ Shapiro.
