PASSION, CREATIVITY, COMMITTMENT
This Pennsylvania, USA based company is the brain child of Sherri Mullen (President/Creative Director). In 2000, Sherri left a successful career as a Systems Engineer, to follow her passion for "all things music". She began to perform her music at regional venues and went into the studio to record the first of four independently released CDs featuring her original material. Sherri built a social networking website (long before Facebook & MySpace were household names) and began connecting with other independent artist and songwriters. She launched a radio show to feature her "indie" artist network, and developed/co-hosted a regional television show that showcased national acts touring through Pennsylvania. In 2004, Sherri became a volunteer workshop coordinator for the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International), bringing songwriting workshops and networking events to the Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and Bethlehem PA region. Several years later, she launched a Student Chapter of NSAI at Lebanon Valley College. Prior to retiring as an NSAI Coordinator in late 2011, Sherri created a seperate Harrisburg Area Chapter of NSAI to support the growing needs of the songwriting contingent in the Harrisburg area.
Sherri honed her business skills and grew her network during trips to New York, Nashville, and Sundance Film Festival, initially pitching her own material and eventually representing songs from other writers. Frustrated by the way songwriters, independent artist & filmmakers, and other music & media industry "creatives" were perceived and treated by the larger publishing monopolies, Sherri launched her own publishing company in 2005, vowing to make it "about the music". ASCAP entity "RockDiva And SugarDaddy Publishing" was established first, with the BMI counterpart "RockDaddy And SugarDiva Publishing" and SESAC entity "RockDude And SongDiva" created shortly thereafter.
Under the RDSD Publishing umbrella, Sherri has built a strong, high quality catalog of polished & prolific songs, instrumentals, and soundscapes in a variety of genres, has several composers on staff to handle "on demand" music needs, and has licensed music to film, television, advertisement campaigns, student projects, and artist projects from around the world!
This twelve year music industry veteran continues her outreach as an educator through one on one consulting, workshops, and is an adjunct Professor at Lebanon Valley College, teaching in their Music Business degree program.
