One Mission: Put Rock & Roll back in Rock & Roll. We want to give Rock & Roll fans great songs to remember and guitar fans some great licks to play. “Southern Rock, Modern Rock, with Country roots wrapped into one band,” Tommye LaGrande, Ozark Radio Network.

Rail, formed in 2003, is a band based out of Southern, Missouri. The band consists of Ryan Mays and three brothers Mike, Matt, and Lucas Brown. Two of the brothers, Mike (Bass) and Matt (Vocals/Guitar) are 20 year-old identical twins, and their younger brother Lucas (Drums) is 16. The fourth band member, Ryan Mays (Lead Guitar) is a long time friend and is 22 years old.

Over the years we have written some 60 original songs and our live shows are great times. Of those 60 songs, we have recorded 4 CD’s and sold a few thousand. In our eyes, the key to becoming successful is making the audience feel like they are part of the experience and not just there to listen to background music.

Rail Biography

One Mission: Put Rock & Roll Decadence back in Rock & Roll. We want to give Rock & Roll fans great songs to remember and guitar fans some great licks to play. “Southern Rock, Modern Rock, with Country roots wrapped into one band,” Tommye LaGrande, Ozark Radio Network.

Rail, formed in 2003, is a band based out of Springfield, Missouri. All band members grew up together in Winona Missouri, a small town of about 1,000 people. Writing-wise, we think we’re experienced and our songs always get better because we are growing as musicians. Over the years we have written some 60 original songs and our live shows are great times. Of those 60 songs, we have recorded 4 CD’s and sold a few thousand. In our eyes, the key to becoming successful is making the audience feel like they are part of the experience and not just there to listen to background music. We have radio play in the Ozarks and an ever growing following around the Mid West. We write songs that a lot of people can relate to with their own personal life experiences. Some of the songs that we have written have been for friends that have passed away, either from a drug overdose or cancer. Other songs are written about personal experience and good times. We want to reach people in a way that will make them understand that life can be harsh, exciting, wonderful, cruel, and unforgiving at the same time. We feel that our songs give them something to relate to.
Our music is our own sound that we have developed over the years. We want people to hear our version of rock and roll, which is southern rock also with a modern rock noise and country roots. We think that this type of sound is absent in today’s music. Some bands that have influenced us are Led Zeppelin, Steve Miller Band, Guns and Roses, Alterbridge, Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, The Eagles and Lynard Skynard. As a band we try and let people know that if you play Rock & Roll, you don’t have to slide into the life style that many musicians have of drugs and alcohol. Getting up in front of a crowd and playing music is a big enough high for us, and we don’t need anything else but the ability to play in front of a large screaming crowd.
