Bio

Andrew Bentley started out as just another lad from London, spending his early years absorbed in a mixture of literature seeped in poetry and post-modern Beatnik influences. Musically, he was influenced and inspired by a variety of genres, music ranging from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones to Reggae and Ska brought to England from the Caribbean and finally to the smoky blues and jazz clubs of London.

Inheriting an artist’s sense of adventure and drama, he packed up his guitar and moved to Israel at 19, Over the next 10 years, Andrew gathered material in his own unique way, joining the military for a short time (mandatory in Israel) and witnessing firsthand the Arab uprising, as well as the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Searching for more spiritually and intellectually, Andrew spent 7 years in academia as a Judaic scholar in a rabbinical school, where he was ordained a Rabbi.

His songs, blend the interpersonal relationships, evolution and state of humankind, current world situation as seen through his unique perspective, are included on his self produced CD. Through his travels and life-experiences, he has learned how to blend imagery and emotions from three continents and give his listener a sense being with him on the modern streets of London to the ancient streets of Jerusalem and to the desert sands of Southern California.
