Artist Biography

The Streets of Harlem have given birth to many revolutionary MC’s such as Cam’Ron, Ma$e, Big L and Doug E. Fresh, but the future of Harlem now has a name that’s not to be forgotten. Maurice “MoeRoc” Clayton has created a street buzz with his Out Of Control mixtapes, which he releases every 3 months. This aspiring artist packs a deadly combination of tremendous natural talent, an incredible flow, a range of versatility as well as a strong work ethic that allows him to stand apart from other MC’s.

MoeRoc proved to be a natural born lyricist when he agreed to the challenge of a freestyle battle in high school. “I had no idea what I was doing” Roc admitted, “but before I knew it, words just started flowing out.” Growing up his influences included rap legends such as Snoop, Big L, Nas and the Notorious B.I.G. As Roc competes in the over saturated music industry market, his skill and originality shine and set him above the rest.

To date, Roc has recorded over 200 songs. Labeled a perfectionist in his field, he passionately expresses his opinions and adamantly lays a creative hand on every project he participates in. For the past 6 years, MoeRoc has been working with his brother Ted “Born” Clayton of One20 Productions. Together the pair has dedicated themselves to producing a unique sound and work feverishly towards success.

Roc’s collaborations with various producers are key to his versatility. These alliances support his refusal to conform to the traditional boundaries of Hip-Hop, yet remaining true to the genre he passionately embraces. Most of his beats are a blend of live instruments as well as a thumping bass – never limiting his possibilities on his tracks.

MoeRoc has recently wowed audiences in a variety of shows around NYC and also has Several Radio Features & Appearances from various major cities and stations including New York, Houston and California.

As Roc continues to hold every mixtape to the standards of an Album, he takes his skills to a new level with non-stop flows and pure creativity in every track. The Out Of Control mixtape collection is a verbal diary in which MoeRoc sheds some light about the hip-hop industry, skeptics and many personal experiences. Through his music Roc marks his territory in the industry as a phenomenal storyteller and a true Master of Ceremony.
