Biography
After the release of the "Mirva- Limited Edition EP? recorded in 2005 Mirva's trail of progress has been reflected through media on radio programs, compilation albums and in music magazines around Sweden. As a result of her ongoing success, Mirva's album "We're here now" will be released internationally in November 2006 through her own independent company VAKAYATA music.
Early start
Growing up in the Swedish countryside, Mirva's adventurous spirit speaks fondly of her first musical experiences: "Music was a way of venting what was inside of me as a child, it became a tool to verbalise the thoughts running through my troubled head." Taking her first singing lesson at the age of 14, Mirva was encouraged friends and family to explore her love of music. During her 3 years of Musical & Performance studies at the prestigious Musical College of Kungahalla, Mirva was introduced to the world of Jazz & Improvisation through her singing teacher Karin Burman. Eager to search this new, uncharted territory, she continued to further her education with a year of studies at Sweden's School of Jazz in Gothenburg, allowing her to venture into her own approach to the genre. Meanwhile her collaboration with pop group Cupcake elevated her into immediate media attention, including accolade for her award in 1998 as Best Vocalist in Western Sweden.

With vocal praise at her fingertips, Mirva dreamt of reaching her audiences through her own stories. Two years of travel nurtured the discovery of a huge potential in song writing - Mirva was able to release her insights and dreams through melodic lyrics and soulful tunes and finally unveil the sound she has come to own and nourish today. She says of her music: "I see my music as journeys that hold no beginning and no end ? just the infinity of sound with touches of beauty. For me, music needs emotion to blossom. The presence of reason, thought or wisdom behind every note is essential and in my opinion the very core of music. It is where I can be alive and communicate, the only place where peace and chaos can perform together as one."
The album
With a new album on the way, Mirva has set her sights on new goals for the future: "My album is the result of all the hard work I've made over the last few years. It feels really special, It's been a wonderful journey and I've met so many amazing people that have helped me make this dream come true. That's why the album is called "We're Here Now", because through all the struggles and all the hard work, this is where I'm at, right here. To be honest, if I would do it all again I don't think I would change anything, I've learnt so much through all of this To stand up tall and believe in yourself in a sometimes harsh and cold music industry is not always easy but man! When you get that go ahead or strike that deal, it's all worth the effort! It hasn't all been easy, but then, would I have learnt as much if I had all the amenities around me? I guess I'll never know. If I would give one advice to anyone it would be to stop, listen and follow their innermost dream, the future, your life, is already here, it's up to you what you do with it!"
