After graduating from college, Michael Mills returned to his hometown of Cleveland and worked as a hip hop DJ at clubs and on the radio. Soon, Mills made what he felt was a natural progression from DJing to production after borrowing some equipment from friends.

In the spring of 2005, an EP produced by Mills eventually made its way to the hands of a president of an independent label. A few months later, Mills moved to Los Angeles to produce for the label. After pulling out of contract negotiations a year later, Mills is happily producing music on his own, and is aggressively looking for avenues to get his tracks heard.

Many people don’t realize that Mills can hold it down in the booth as well as behind the boards – he has performed as an emcee in two talent competitions and won them both: “Technically they weren’t rap contests…but there were rappers in the contests. You have to pick your battles…dude juggling the bowling pins didn’t realize who he was up against”.
