3 chord Mike was born in Adelaide, Australia in 1967. Twenty-one years later, on a colleagues suggestion, he begins playing the guitar, and inspired by the Smithereens debut album, begins singing (painfully at first). Dropping out of University, he takes a factory job and runs home after shifts to play guitar and watch MTV until late. Ah, those innocent, blissful days before self criticism sets in! Reluctantly completing his studies, he gets a career, which he quits 2 years later to travel. Driving across the Australian desert he writes his first song, which conveniently, he "forgets". Slowly pursues playing and writing, and busks for a while, during which time he "sees a million faces, and he rocks the mall", as JBJ almost said. Gets some of his songs together for publishing (hopefully), his aims being avoiding a day job, saying what he's got to say,man, and getting together to inspire and be inspired by other musicians. 3 chord Mike currently keeps himself off the streets by driving trucks, but hopefully not forever. He also likes cycling, walking, rock climbing, and recently walked from Land's end to John O'Groats (1000 miles), something that neither The Proclaimers nor Vanessa Carlton have probably done.
