An award winning singer/songwriter, Michael Theodore has carved a name for himself as an energetic, enthusiastic entertainer as well as an extraordinary 'crowd pleaser'. He has also developed into a prolific songwriter who can take his audience on a journey through soul-searching heartache or craft a story around hope, optimism and life experiences. The recent 'top honours' placing, in the Indie International Songwriting Competition, of his reflective song, 'In Stride', is further testimony of his undeniable talent!
His first recollection of music began before he could barely walk or talk. It came in the sweet, soft voice of his mother, Jacqueline, singing around the house. As Michael grew, his love for music grew as well and by the age of 5 he was performing as Tom Jones, complete with a mini-tuxedo!! His mother continued to encourage and nurture his musical talents and was often the first person to hear his newly written songs. As one would expect from a loving mother, the criticism was never too harsh even though the words of a struggling teen were certainly filled with angst and confusion.
A graduate of John Abbott College in Montreal, Michael spent 3 years in the Theatre Program studying vocal techniques while discovering a natural ease and comfort on stage. Combining his passion for music with his confident stage presence Michael is a polished performer who is able to engage an audience throughout his well known 'high energy' sets!
Last year, Michael lost his mother to cancer. This CD is a dedication to her memory and the influence that she had on his evolution as an artist.
