Martin Paris is a contemporary acoustic finger style guitarist. Drawing on inspiration from California's pristine wine country, under layered by a strong faith and family, Martin brings his versatile array of original material and adds his unique style to some familiar favorites. His music takes you on an instrumental journey by blending pop, rock, folk, blues and ballads. Listeners have and fans have called the music catchy, toe-tapping, beautiful and profoundly thought provoking.
Currently he has three projects available and released on Solid Air Records, a Grammy award winning label, as well as a Christmas album "One Acoustic Christmas" and his latest release "Time At Hand". Martin has also opened concerts for Grammy winning guitarist Laurence Juber, Peppino D'Agostino and singer songwriter Karla Bonoff. He has also performed on KCBX radio and KSBY television in San Luis Obispo.

Solo Acoustic Guitarist

Martin Paris is a talented and well rounded acoustic guitar player who's music is most inspiring. Musically his songs range from melodic to up tempo as he shows an excellent feel for song arrangements. With his debut CD, "Influenced," released in 2000, fans have called his music catchy, beautiful, haunting, and thought provoking.
Martin learned his craft from his late father, Ed Paris, who taught him at age twelve. "I watched my Dad play for years, and grew up listening and playing to James Taylor, the Doobie Brothers, the Beatles, and some blues and jazz that was influencing us back then."
"When I got older, I got in to acoustic instrumental guitarists. Some of my musical influences include Peppino D'Agostino, Laurence Juber, Tommy Emmanuel, Acoustic Alchemy and Phil Keaggy. The acoustic guitar inspires me to create a musical journey. Some of my experimentation with alternate tunings has led me to some of the great finger style players."
Martin grew up on the Central Coast of California where he resides in Templeton with his wife Roxanne, and their four children. A UPS driver for over 20 years now, he finds the time to perform at weddings, local wineries, some private events, and live concerts.
In 2005 Martin released his second CD, "Turning Point", featuring ten of the eleven compositions written by Martin, and one song written by Laurence Juber, a former Wings guitarist. James Jensen of Acoustic Music Resource comments, "..a lovely product inside and out ".
Martin was also one of the finalists in the 1st annual "Winery Music Awards" located in Paso Robles. A CD entitled, "Sounds of the Wine Country", also features one of Martin's originals.
Recently Martin had the honor of opening up for Grammy award winning guitarist Laurence Juber at Castoro Cellars. He also played on Charter Communications TV for a show featuring local musicians.
As he continues to write for an upcoming project, Martin's instrumentals are often inspired by his family. "Many compositions are my emotional response to events in my life. My music is a gift from God that I love to share."
