Lucas was born in the small town, population 50, of Hubbell Nebraska. The entire Hoge family loves to sing and would even perform on stage together. One night Lucas watched as his father and brother Heath performed one of his favorite Alan Jackson songs at a local bar, when he thought to himself “I should be doing that”. Lucas was playing drums in the school band, when he started teaching himself guitar but it was his third instrument, his soul stirring voice that got him noticed.
In college Lucas joined a praise and worship band called “Xtreme Devotion” One thing led to another and soon Lucas was playing and singing for a variety of different bands. He moved more into mainstream, but not ever leaving his Christian roots behind, with a band called “ Southern Cross” a country rock band that played festivals and fairs across Nebraska and Kansas and opened for John Michael Montgomery at Harrah’s Casino.

Lucas was born in the small town, population 50, of Hubbell Nebraska. The entire Hoge family loves to sing and would even perform on stage together. One night Lucas watched as his father and brother Heath performed one of his favorite Alan Jackson songs at a local bar, when he thought to himself “I should be doing that”. Lucas was playing drums in the school band, when he started teaching himself guitar but it was his third instrument, his soul stirring voice that got him noticed.
In college Lucas joined a praise and worship band called “Xtreme Devotion” One thing led to another and soon Lucas was playing and singing for a variety of different bands. He moved more into mainstream, but not ever leaving his Christian roots behind, with a band called “ Southern Cross” a country rock band that played festivals and fairs across Nebraska and Kansas and opened for John Michael Montgomery at Harrah’s Casino. Lucas soon recruited his own band “Borderline” performing a variety of country, country-rock and gospel music to sold-on-him crowds.
Along the way Lucas entered a number of singing contests and emerged victorious over some stiff competition. During this time his music evolved and Lucas began writing his own songs, using multi-talented singer/songwriter Skip Ewing as his Mentor. In September 2001 Lucas, with the full support of his family, packed up his 1994 Dodge Ram pickup and moved the Country Music Capital of the World-Nashville. It wasn’t long before Lucas was playing at the world famous Bluebird Café. Sitting on the stage in that crowded room filled with a jury of his peers and singing one of his original songs to a captivated, appreciative audience. Lucas knew Nashville was where he was supposed to be.
Since then he has performed in the round at Douglas Corner, Hotel Preston, The Broken Spoke, Hall of Fame Lounge, the Alabama Grill weekly, Tootsies Orchid Lounge and in numerous other venues. In 2002 Lucas released his debut CD “In My Dreams”. Last Fall Contemporary Christian artist Johnny Andrews recorded Lucas’s song “ Get the Door”, co-written with his friend Eddie Killgallon.
During this time Lucas has been crafting his songwriting skills by writing with some of the best writers in Nashville. Lucas got his first recognizable cut on the T.V show “Smallville” on the WB with a song that he performed and cowrote with Corey Barker and Brent Anderson.
Lucas has recently finished his second album and is getting a great response from a number of radio stations throughout the U.S.. US 103 Country even flew Him out to perform at their listener appreciation party on May 5th. Lucas also made the top 5 most requested songs, coming in at number 3. Lucas and his band are currently playing from Nashville to L.A acquiring a fan base from ages 5 to 95.
