Strangers & Aliens

Out of a burning desire to bring a broader range of colors to the current Christian music palette, Strangers & Aliens was born. Led by 19 year old Liza Vervoordt, this group combines high quality vocal ability with powerful and original alt rock composition. The name “Strangers” comes from 1 Peter 2:11. As the days pass, we feel increasingly like strangers in this world.

Liza has won NY Metro area attention performing at the 2004 & 2005 Colgate Women’s Games at Madison Square Garden and as a finalist in McDonalds Gospelfest 2004, as well as performing in various Christian and secular clubs in the area with different groups and accompanists.

After coming together during last part of 2004, Strangers & Aliens have drawn great interest playing venues such as Paul Colby’s The Bitter End and Crash Mansion in NYC during January and February of 2005. Remarkably, secular audiences have reacted extremely positively to overtly Christian lyrics!

Someday I'll Lyrics

WORDS & MUSIC BY JOSEPH VERVOORDT
"SOMEDAY I'LL"

There's an island fantasy
A someday i'll we'll never see
Where problems end and time is free
And everything's alright
If we could just get to that place to find the goal
To end our race
We could really save this place
But now there's just no time...

CHORUS
Life's important revelation
It's not about your destinations
It's who you touch and how you're patient before you say goodbye
Before you say goodbye

Unhappy people chase tomorrow
They can't outrun their days or sorrows
To try and fill their lives they borrow
But find they just can't rest
Happy's where you are this moment
So push your pen or tend your garden
Go to the phone and call your lost friends
Turn someday to now

BRIDGE
I'd retire at 41
We'd play backgammon in the sun
But all that we do now is run
'Cause there's so little time
There's so little time

There's an island fantasy
A someday i'll we'll never see
Where problems end and time is free
And everything's alright
Happy's where you are this moment
So push your pen or tend your garden
Go to the phone and call your lost friends
Turn someday to now
Turn someday to now

CHORUS
Life's important revelation
It's not about your destinations
IT's who you touch and how you're patient before you say goodbye
Before you say goodbye
Goodbye
