Kevin West, is a throw back singer songwriter / guitar player studied in JAZZ and heavily influenced by HIP-HOP. Playing guitar and singing since a child Kevin has played and studied many styles of music including BLUES, HARD ROCK/ MEATAL, ACOUSTIC FOLK, HIP-HOP & CLASSICAL MUSIC. He also studied JAZZ at the COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON, SC. Born in San Diego CA. & raised in northern New Jersey, Kevin West grew up in a lower middle class blue collar’ environment which is often reflected in his lyrics. His writing seems to tell stories we’ve all heard about living in the real world & how rough it can be, though sometimes using humor to make his point. Living and performing in Charleston SC for 10 years now, he was voted “CHARLESTONS BEST MALE VOCALIStT in 1997 and 98 in the Charleston City Paper.
