Following her initiation into rajadhiraj yoga, Kashika set out on a personal journey in search of truth, balance and enlightenment. Kashika is sharing her story with the completion of her first album, “Where Do I Begin.” With a unique array of unexpected harmonies, poetic narratives and masterful melodies, Kashika has created her own genre somewhere between classical and pop music. As a classical pianist, Kashika spent most of her early career performing for audiences in Europe and North America. Ultimately it was the culmination of her interest in philosophy that inspired her to move towards songwriting. Kashika hopes this album will encourage listeners to “hold fast to an inner awareness of the truth of who they really are despite their daily routines.”

A Brief Bio

Kashii is the ancient name for the city of Benares, India and refers to the state of being achieved when one reaches higher awareness.
As part of her initiation into the practice of rajadhiraj yoga, Kashii was renamed after this ancient city, and set out on a personal and professional journey in search of truth, balance and enlightenment.

Twenty years later, Kashii is sharing her story with the
completion of her first album, “Where Do I Begin.” With a unique array of unexpected harmonies, poetic narratives and masterful melodies, Kashii has created her own genre somewhere in between classical and popular music.

Born into a military family, Kashii traveled extensively as a child until finally settling in Hartford, CT. With dreams of becoming a concert pianist, Kashii spent most of her early career performing for audiences around the world. Ultimately it was the culmination of Kashii’s travels and increasing interest in philosophy, intuitive sciences and songwriting that inspired her to move beyond the
classical genre and towards the unknown territory of pop.

Kashii hopes this album will encourage listeners to “hold fast to an inner awareness of the truth of who they really are despite their daily routines.” She continues to travel with her husband-
-also a musician--on tour always translating her adventures into song.
