Karen Lou Nicole is Calgary's newest pop sensation and a true performer at heart. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Karen Lou brings a distinct vocal sound and insightful lyrics to Calgary's growing music scene. Each track that she creates is excitingly different as she is not afraid to experiment to create that new sound sought after by artists worldwide.

Karen Lou Nicole is currently working on her first album, with a tentative release for the fall of 2008. She has committed herself to understanding all aspects of creating music, and therefore takes a vested interest in the entire album creative process. Karen Lou writes her own music and lyrics, has an interactive role as co-producer and mixer, as well as takes on manufacturing and distribution roles. She maintains creative control right down to album covers, promotional ideas, and photo shoots.
Consequently, she remains open minded, understanding the value of a true professional and elicits the help of top producers, distributors, and photographers whenever she can.

Enrolled in the Allan Cozzubbo Academy of Dance, Karen Lou Nicole spent eight years performing song and dance routines at annual competitions across Alberta, often securing a place amongst the top acts. Energized by performing, Karen Lou began keeping a journal and writing down emotions and poetry which would later be converted into powerful lyrics. Nicole then complimented her love affair with the stage by singing in talent competitions throughout her school years, aware that her self promotion was increasing the audience size year after year. To the delight of her peers, Karen Lou auditioned and won places to sing at both of her school graduations, performing for audience sizes well over a thousand people. Eager to experiment intimate venues, she then fronted a cover band on the local scene.

Never finished growing, Karen Lou Nicole increased the amount of time she spent writing and began to develop complete songs whilst learning to play the guitar. Aware, appreciative, and understanding of the business aspects surrounding the music industry, Karen Lou Nicole successfully graduated college with a business marketing diploma, achieving academic honors. She continues to spend much of her time researching and learning as a compliment to her artistic writing and producing abilities.

Karen Lou Nicole consistently shows great determination and self-discipline, taking her music career very seriously. Her upcoming album is diverse and upbeat. It will be sure to get the blood flowing within the listener to allow them to forget the stresses of the everyday working world.
